Astrid's P.O.V.

I spent the rest of my shift in the back room, no matter how much Hiccup coaxed me to come out and don't get me started on how much of a raise my boss said she'd give me if I came out. Finally, they called my parents and and Miller. They were the only ones that could get me to calm down. My boss gave me the rest of the day off and my parents took me home, Miller driving my motorcycle. It was now 6:00 and my mom was trying to get me ready for the party. I wanted to just go in the clothes I was wearing at school, hoping to de-attract Hiccup but she said that they were "Dirty" from my morning ax welding session. They only had one grass stain. I give up and change my stained shirt to my black one. She huffs in defeat and I hear the door bell ring. I open the door and Hiccup stares at me in shock. "I don't wear make up," I say after a pause.

Hiccup's P.O.V.

I stared at the girl in front of me. She was wearing her jeans with a black tank top and no jacket. Her hair was in a beautiful side braid and her bangs fell in front of her spiked head band perfectly, covering just the right portion of her eye. "I don't wear make up," she says, breaking me from my trance. I shrug casually.

"Okay," I say and she closes the door behind her, walking at my side before stopping at her bike.

"Here," she says, handing me a helmet as she put hers on and got on. I point to my car.

"Can't we take my car?" I ask. She shrugs.

"You can and I'll follow," she says and I wonder if it's because of the wreck.

"Which ever one you feel most comfortable with," I say and she flips the glass of her helmet down before putting the spare in a bag on the side of the motorcycle.

"Lead the way," she says, her voice muffled. I get in and drive to Snotlout's house, seeing her follow me in the rear view mirror. We get there and I park on the street and get out in time to see her ride a little bit further down the road before doing a 180, putting her foot on the ground to help her spin and she does a wheelie until she is across the street from my car. She uses her foot for balance as she lets the engine cool down, her head facing the ground in front of her. She turns the bike off and takes off her helmet, flipping her hair out of her face as she holds it on her leg. I lean against my car as she looks past me, at Snotlout's house. "No way am I going in there," she says as I walk towards her with a smirk.

"You know that means you have to bring your family to my place for dinner an additional 7 times right?" I ask and her shoulders slump before she pauses.

"Fine!" She groans, her voice booming with irritation. I chuckle before she puts her helmet away and slings a bag over her shoulder. Was that there before? I shrug it off as we walk in to be blasted with rock music. Astrid covers her ears in discomfort. The music stops and everyone's eyes turn to her as nervous murmuring rises from the crowd. I walk towards the snack bar as the music starts again and Astrid reluctantly followed. After a while of me trying to get her to have conversations with people, Snotlout announces that the karaoke machine is set up.

"Wanna sing?" I ask Astrid and she stiffens a little.

"I don't sing," she says.

"Come on, we can pick a song that has more of a male part," I tell her and she rolls her eyes.

"Fine," she sighs and we head for the stage but the twins beat us to it. "Well, guess we have to wait," she says in relief.

"Okay, I'm blue, you're pick," Tuffnut says as he picks up a microphone.

"How come I have to be pick?!" Ruffnut complains.

"Because. Girls like pink," Tuff says.

"Sexist!" Astrid calls, raising her root beer bottle in a toasting motion. Everyone chuckles, slightly tensed.
