Hiccup's P.O.V.

I woke up on Astrid's couch. The girl herself was no where in sight. "Miller! Put that gun down! You have no idea what you're doing!" her scream sounds from upstairs. I ran upstairs and threw the door to Millers room open to see him pointing an air-soft gun at Astrid's head. "Miller, those things hurt at this distance!" she shouts as I sigh.

"But I need to work on my aiming!" he whines. She suddenly points at me.

"Aim at him!" she orders. He obeys before she disarms him. "What woke you up?" she asks as she unlods the gun of it's beads.

"I thought I heard my phone go off and it remimded me that I have to apologize to Jacey," Miller says.

"No! You broke up with her! Remember?" Astrid says. Millers shoulders slump before he lays back down. She pulls the blanket over his body before tucking him in, ever so carefully...almost mother-like. "Just go back t sleep, and in the morning, I'll make you your favorite buttermilk pancakes," she whispers softly before kissing his forehead. She stands up as he murmurs a tired thanks. I back out of the room and Astrid silently closes the door before facing me. "Sorry if that woke you," she says apologetically as we walk back downstairs.

"It's fine. Um, I was actually wondering, if you would go to Snotlouts next party with me. I promise he won't get your phone again," I add quickly as she glares at me.

"Another one?" she asks in exasperation.

"He throws one every Friday," I tell her and she sighs.

"Do I have a choice? My moms gonna find out and make me go so sure," she says, turning the water on in the kitchen and starting the dishes that had piled up.

"Where are your parents?" I ask her as I realize that she and Miller were the only ones home.

"They-" she starts but breaks off, staring at me skeptically. "They're sleeping in," she finishes and I roll my eyes.

"It's 3:30," I tell her and she starts scrubbing the dishes faster. "What some help?"

"No, I got it," she says as she splashes a little bit of water onto the window in front of the sink. Stormfly then comes up and drops her leash into the sink. Astrid rips it out and puts it on the counter while scolding her dog. I hold back a laugh as I realize how much Stormfly is like Toothless. "You had to mention the time."

"Sorry."

She finally finishes the dishes and sighs in relief as she sees the time: 3:45. "Stormfly, let me do my hair and change my shirt then we'll get goin' alright?" she says and her dog barks softly before taking the leash from the counter and running to the front door. I follow Astrid upstairs and wait outside her bedroom door until she opens it, wearing a new shirt. "I tell you, that dog's punctual," she says as she runs to a desk that had a mirror and starts brushing her hair. I laugh.

"Want some help with that?" I ask as I see her struggling to braid her hair. She sighs before spinning in her swivel chair to face me.

"Do you know how to braid?" she asks before I sit on her bed and motion for her to sit in front of me. She rolls over, in front of me, before lowering the chair so that I can see what I'm doing. Her bed was kinda low. I brush her hair until it's nice and soft before separating it into three equal sections. I take my time with the weaving, not wanting to have to let go of the cloud on her head. I finally finish and she hands me a hair tie before I tie it off and she thanks me before rolling back to her desk. The back taps the desk and a second later, Stormfly barks from down stairs. I look at my watch to see that it's 4 o'clock. I follow her as she runs downstairs and clips her dog to the leash. "Comin' with us?" she asks as we walk to the side walk.

"If you don't mind," I say before realizing Toothless was still in the forest. I let out a sharp whistle. "Toohtless! Come on, we're leaving Bud!" I shout and he runs from a group of bushes before walking at Stormfly's side. We walk around Berk, Astrid casting longing looks at the woods, as if she was way more comfortable when she was covered by leaves and branches. We come to the outskirts and Stormfly and Astrid pause as the bridge to Outcast City comes into view. I stare at her eyes as her eye brows move together, her eyes hardening into a glare. Then, her gaze becomes far-away, memories flashing through her orbs. I see them starting to water but she closes her lids before curtly shaking her head and continuing to walk down the street. Stormfly's gaze lingers on the bridge and distant city for a moment longer before she follows her owner. I exchange a glance with Toothless before we run to catch up with them. I feel the need to ask her about that. I didn't like that look she currently had in her eye. It was one I saw often but this time, it was more than deadly. I can't even begin to describe how much anger she had in her beautiful sapphire eyes. But her face was calmer than ever.

Astrid's P.O.V.

I was faintly aware of Hiccup anymore. My mind was whirling too much. Flashbacks, thoughts, emotions, memories, feelings, opinions and facts, reasons, consequences, my duties...those are just a few things going through my mind. But the thing that was nagging on my brain, was the anger I felt when I looked at that bridge. It was overwhelming. My veins were on fire, my skin was rashy on my ankles, and Stormfly kept walking between my legs! *Deep sigh*

After the walk

Hiccup had gone home, Miller was still asleep, and we survived day one of my parents' one week anniversary vacation. My head had started spinning when I got home, so I ate a slice of pizza, thinking it was low blood sugar. So, then I tried some tea, but that only made it worse. I was lightheaded, frozen to the bone, my vision was blurred, and I was exhausted. Eventually, I fell into a troubled sleep, tossing and turning on the couch.

Morning

I woke up in a pool of sweat, while feeling a cold spot on my forehead. I take the ice pack off only to have someone put it back on. I look in Millers sympathetic eyes before standing up and going to the kitchen. "Where are you going?" he asks as I pull out ingredients.

"Making you buttermilk pancakes like I promised," I tell him before I turn on the stove to have flames shoot from the burner. He quickly moves me out of the flames reach before turning the stove off.

"Not in this condition you're not," he orders before leading me upstairs.

"But-" I start as he takes me to my room but he cuts me off.

"No buts. You're always taking care of me when I'm simply sleep deprived. You are sick. It's my turn to take care of you," he says and hands me my swimsuit, "Change into this and I'll fill the tub." I look at him in confusion before doing what he says after he enters the bath room. Once I'm changed, I drag my self into the bathroom, still really dizzy. I see Miller kneeled at the side of the tub, which was filled with warm water. He helps me into the warmth before I lay back and he puts a cold washcloth on my forehead. After a while, he undoes the braid in my hair and starts to massage the shampoo into it before rinsing it out with the detachable shower head. He then does the same with the conditioner as I just relax. He always overreacted when I got sick, but I let him fuss over me because last time I tried to stop him he almost called the hospital. And I only had a cold. He leaves when my hair is all rinsed out and comes back a moment later, helping me up before wrapping me in a towel. I leave the bathroom and dry off before changing into the PJs he has on my bed as he cleans the bathroom. He then comes out and makes me lay down before piling extra blankets on my shivering body. Now, I was even wondering what was wrong with me; I've never been this sick before...
