Chapter One: The Beta Tester

Everyone loves the futuristic gadgets that we all got to use everyday in our different ways to make things easier and to entertain most of us after work.

We have cellphones of different brands and of different models with its unique characteristics and features, added up to its main function of calling and texting for communication.

We have laptops and desktop computers at home where we usually work on with documents and paperwork that needs help from different types of computer softwares.

And every after those jobs and tasks to do, we have a ton more of gadgets to be used for gaming, such as the XBox, psp(s), Gameboy Switch, the laptop or desktop itself, and of course our phones as well just to satisfy our need for entertainment.

Sa panahong ito, year 2026 ay hindi na uso ang brick game at mga classy na larong noon ay usong uso. Everything is modernized, o sabihin na nating mas modernized kesa noon.

Lahat ay mas handy na, na sa mismong relo mo na makikita ang karamihan sa mga kailangan mong dokumento at data sa pang araw araw mong buhay. Everything lies within the hands of the technology. From phones, to the most advanced invention nowadays, the holographic AI(s) mostly used for governmental purposes in offices.

And this, is all thanks to those developers who worked hard to attain everything in just a click of our hands.

My name is Stevenson Kyle Zapanta or Steven for short. Nineteen years of age and is a College of Architecture student here in one of the most prestigious schools in the Philippines, the Heaven's Crest University which my parents has chosen for me since according to them, it is better to learn from the best.

My parents names are Terrenz Kyle Zapanta who is a game developer and is the owner of one Ashton Games Company, while my mom Eleanor Santiago is the current CEO of a company of our Grandparents in her side which I don't know what kind.

This are the main reasons why we, me and my younger sister Ashley were left all alone at home and was only given money for our daily and monthly expenses. Cruel isn't it?

"Ok class, since x is equal to y, then x plus ...." mahabang pagpapaliwanag ng professor namin sa math sabay pagsulat sa board ng napakahaba na niyang equation sa gamit ang isang device na mukhang stick kung saan nanggagaling ang holograms ng bawat isusulat niya na parang totoong marking pen siya. We call it the Holographic Pen.

Nakapangalumbaba ko naman siyang pinanood mula sa pwesto ko dito sa bandang likuran habang ang kabilang kamay ko ay nilalaro-laro ang isang ballpen na kauri nito pampaalis antok, completely unaware of my surroundings bago ako nakaramdam ng isang kamay na tumapik sa gilid ko.

"Psst! Steven, ano't nakasimangot ka?" tanong sakin ng isang babaeng nakaupo sa tabi ko habang nakatitig sa akin, continously poking my shoulder in the process. Her name is Sabrina Miyuki Villarosa, and she's my bestfriend since elementary.

"Nothing, don't mind me. I'm just bored of this class" sagot ko naman matapos maghikab ng mahina lang naman, sapat upang hindi ako mapansin ng professor namin na abala parin sa kaniyang ginagawa kanina pa.

"Sus. Kailan ka ba hindi inantok kapag math na ang pinag-uusapan?" komento pa nito sabay ng mahinang pagtawa kung kaya naman sinamaan ko siya ng tingin bago muling ipinokus ang sarili sa klase.
