Chapter 23: The Search

Tristan's Point Of View

Early in the morning, perhaps it was 5 AM, our group was already out in the woods leading to the pathway back to the Starting City or what's left of it. Magkakasama kami nina Steven, Sabrina, Ashley, Sebastian at Lucid, Steven's new friend ngayon and we're walking through the forest now.

Don't get me wrong, nagseselos parin ako kay Lucid since she was really close to Steven, if I were to base everything on how they act around each other, especially the confession I was able to hear last night.

Yeah. You heard me loud and clear. It was accidental, palabas sana ako ng INN to take a short walk around the village at hindi talaga ako makatulog thinking of my little sister. I stumbled upon her small confession and figured they need privacy kung kaya naman mabilis ko na lamang silang Iniwan doon at nagpatuloy na kung ano ba ang dapat ko talagang gawin.

Now, Hindi ako nagseselos sa kaniya since I am in love with my bestfriend or anything. We're not gay, okay? Nagseselos lang ako sa closeness nila and attention na dating saamin iniuukol ni Steven.

Even so, Kailangan ko muna iyong isantabi lalo na at isang grupo na kami ngayon. A group wanting to look for my sister.

"Look over there" boses ni Sabrina na nakakuha ng atensyon naming lahat as we found her pointing to the direction of a large wall with a large portion of it on the ground, sirang sira na ito maging ang mga dating buildings sa city ay kitang kita namin kung gaano kasira at hindi na mapakikinabangan pa.

"Is that... The city?" hindi makapaniwalang tanong naman ni Ashley as she stared at the ruins not too far from us.

Maging ako man ay hindi makapaniwala sa sinapit ng Starting City. It was such a sight for sore eyes but now, it's gone. I wonder what is really going on here? Was this some kind of an event hosted by Ashton to commemorate the huge number of players who were playing the game now? Hindi ko alam. How about those players who just died from the events yesterday? Argh. Thinking about this only makes my head hurt.

"Unfortunately, yes." sagot dito ng kaniyang kapatid na may malungkot na ekspresyon ang namumutawi sa kaniyang mukha. "I just hope she's safe wherever she is right now"

Kaagad ko naman itong nilapitan at inakbayan with a smile plastered on my lips. It might not be my most genuine smile but it was obviously something. "Don't worry, mahahanap din natin si Christa at sigurado rin akong magiging ayos lang siya wherever she is. She's not my sister for nothing."

Nakapagpabalik naman iyon ng ngiti sa kaniyang labi, thankfully. Dahan dahan itong tumango saakin at sumagot, "You're right. Kaya nga niyang suntukin kahit na ano o sino eh. She would be fine"

"Yeah, parang ang hirap paring paniwalaan na babae siya. Her punches are like.. For world champions!" bulalas ko rito na pare-pareho naming ikinatawang lahat for a moment there. Hindi ko na rin ininda ang pangangantyaw saakin ng mga kasama, and importante saakin ay ang napangiti ko sila at nabawasan ko kahit na paano ang pressure na namumuo sa grupo.

Ilang sandali pa ang lumipas at narating narin namin ang Starting City. There were goblins around the whole area, at mga debris na nagkalat sa mga kalsada na halata namang nagmula sa mga pagguhong nangyari dito kahapon.
