Chapter 31: Ace

Third Person's Point Of View

In a cafe not too far from the Ashton Games Company building, can two men wearing suits be seen sitting on a booth near the large windows overlooking the rest of the city, as well as the huge number of media outside the Ashton Games, still waiting for it's owner to grace them with his presence at last, after a month of hiding inside.

Dito ay matatagpuan ang nakayukong lalaki, with fear and anxiety plastered on his face, samantalang isang ngisi naman ang namumutawi sa labi ng isa pa as he has one of his arms stretched on the seat next to him.

"Now, let us go to the main topic at hand, shall we?" sabi nito, gazing down at the game developer in front of him, awaiting his response.

"J-just tell me what you need to tell me... M-may gagawin pa k-kasi ako." tugon no Geoffrey dito na nakayuko parin at nanginginig ang mga tuhod.

Mas lalong lumawak ang ngisi nito sa labi ng dahil sa narinig. "Really? Like what? Reporting to Axel?"

Mabilis na napaangat ng titig si Geoffrey sa pagkabigkas ng pangalan ng lalaking yon, the man he so despise for having the lives of his siblings on his hands. With his lower lip trembling, he spoke.

"W-what are you talking about?" tanong nito. Hindi parin siya susuko na lamang at magpapakita ng kahinaan sa harapan ng taong ito. He needs to continue denying, 'yon lang ang kaya niyang magawa now to save his siblings from that evil man.

"Tigilan mo na 'yang pagpapangap mo, I already know about the whole truth." sabi dito ng huli, reaching out to his cup of coffee and taking a sip before putting it down on the table in front of them two once again. "You're working for Axel and you're the one who installed that program into the game files during the launching, am I right? Ngayon inuutusan ka niya na magreport sa kaniya about the Ashton's progress in making a program to fight the one he created himself."

Nanlalaki ang mga mata ni Geoffrey na muling napayuko ng ulo to prevent him from seeing the expression on his face. A thousand thoughts was running inside his head, kagaya na lang ng kung anong pwedeng mangyari sa kaniyang mga kapatid sa oras na malaman ni Axel na mayroon ng ibang nakakaalam ng kaniyang ipinag-utos dito.

How?! What am I going to do now?

I need to get away from this situation....but how?

"What? I saw you slip into the database that day." dagdag pa nito na halos hindi na marinig ng huli as dami ng kaniyang mga iniisip at sa lakas ng kabog ng kaniyang dibdib.

Flashback.....

As Geoffrey was making his way through the hallway leading to the data base of this new game the Ashton Games company developed themselves, a man could be seen from afar, watching him with such a confused expression on his face.

It was him; Clinton of the beta testers, who was on his way down to witness the whole launching ceremony of the game. Kagagaling lamang niya sa kaniyang opisina sa floor din na iyon, working on some important projects that he was supposed to show his boss next month.
