~Casey's POV~
I KNEW IT! Nash was being so good, and then he goes down and takes down everything that is close to him with him too. It's always him that causes things to go wrong. Whenever we're together I always feel safe, yet I'm always in danger. I mean, I feel safe with Luke, but not in the same way.
"Babe? Are you ready to go now?" Luke said snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Um yeah. One sec. I just have to um make a phone call." I said.
I dialed Nash's number but I didn't hit the call button. I was too scared. I waited. I redialed his number over and over again. I couldn't actually call him and talk to him. I decided to just leave and go home.
I drove Luke to my apartment because he offered to stay to keep me safe so I let him.
"Luke, are you feeling better?" I asked.
"Yeah, my head sort of hurts though. And so does my back." He said.
"Really? Do you want me to massage your back?" I asked
"Sure, if you really want to."
"He layed down on his stomach and I say on his lower back / butt and put my legs on his sides.
I started rubbing his back and he started moaning. I couldn't stop laughing.
"Luke! What are you doing?" I said while uncontrollably laughing.
"It just feels sooooo nice."
"Don't get too excited." Then he flipped over and I almost fell off the couch.
I started giggling and he kissed me on the lips. He went lower towards my neck and started sucking the skin. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do this. I'm not even sure about Luke anymore.
"Luke. We need to have a serious talk right now. It's about us." I said while avoiding eye contact.
"You're breaking up with me . . . aren't you."
"I'm so sorry. I just, I love someone else. I did truely love you. I really did. I'm just in love with another guy. I'm sorry." Tears ran down my cheek. He went to wipe them away but I stopped him.
"I always knew that you still loved Nash. Even when he was gone, you would act so depressed. You made it seem like it was the end of the world. I mean, it's probably because he is your world. Casey, I love you. But, we are just going to have to be best friends."
"Luke. Can I ask you something?" He nodded his head in approval.
"Did you always know, you know, about me and Nash?"
"Yes, I actually was hoping that he would leave, or dump you. I mean, not to be mean, but I wanted to be the one to make you happy. To make you smile and laugh. But that first day we went out, you didn't smile at all. You barely even spoke. Casey, trust me when I say this. You and Nash are meant to be together. Promise me you'll be together." He saod.
I started to make some coffee. I took out the eggs and pancake mix and bacon. I heated up the pan and started cooking everything. Then I felt two cold hands on my hips. I jumped a little and noticed it was Luke.
I pushed him off and he walked away. After everything was made I went to the table and I took the tray of food with me. Luke sat down next to me. This was going to be an awkward breakfast.
I got the coffee and gave him one. He smiled. "Thanks Casey." He said and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I have him a look and he put his hands up. "Sorry, it's a habit."
"No problem." I said. We both made a plate of food and we just talked. It felt like old times. When Nash was at magcon and everything was fine and peaceful, yet I missed him.
My phone starts ringing. I see its from Nash. The profile photo he took of is kissing popped up. Hopefully Luke didn't see it, especially because I just broke up with him. But it brought back good memories of us together.
"Sorry Luke. It's important. I'll be back in a few minutes, okay?"
"Sure. Take your time."
I run to my room and shut the door. I sit on the bed and pick up the phone.
"What is it Nash?"
"I need to talk to you. Its really important."
~Nash's POV~
Why wouldn't Jo tell me she was pregnant? She didn't even seem like it. I wonder if it had happened recently. Right now, I can't worry about this. I have to worry about Casey's safety.
After I called Casey and told her I wanted to meet up with her, I drove to our meeting place. It was the same place that we always met. Behind our houses at the beach.
I took off my shoes and walked down by the shore with my toes in the warm sand. It was quiet today. No one was on the beach besides this other family, but they were so far down that I couldn't even hear them.
I listened to the waves crashing. I watched as the sun looked over me up high in the sky. I saw Casey sit down next to me. She looked so beautiful. She was absolutely stunning in this light. The wind was blowing her hair back perfectly and her smile was angelic.
"What?" She asked.
"It's just, that you are so beautiful." I said.
She smiled and I saw her cheeks turning pink. She punched my shoulder and I held her hand. She surprisingly let me.
"Casey. You need to leave town. And so does Luke. It's not safe here." I said.
"Nash, why? What's wrong?"
"It's Caleb. He's back." She sat there for a minute. A tear rolled slowly down her cheek. I wiped it away, still holding her hand. Then I brought her into a hug. She cried into my shoulder. I rubbed her back and she held onto me tighter.
"Nash, I can't do this. I won't leave you. Not ever. I wouldn't be able to live with myself. If anything, he would be after you, not Luke. Just please, come with me? We can run away, we can live the drem that we always had!" Tears were streaming down her face. I held her face in my hands and looked into her beautiful eyes, because this may be the last time I would be able to be with her.
