I was cornered by Macky when she saw me alone. Agad nya akong hinatak papunta sa isang balkonahe sa ball room.

"We need to talk!" Anito sabay halukipkip sa akin na nagpatawa ng mahina sa akin. Alam kong darating ang ganitong komprontasyon, di ko lang inaasahan na sa mismong araw na ito gagawin ni Macky. She knows me so well and yet she knows not all.

"About what?" Maang maangang kong sagot.

"You know what Howy! Bigla na lang inanunsyo ni Abuelo na magpaparty dahil darating ka! Pero hindi nya sinabi na kinasal ka! Ano to! Gulatan?! I'm your friend Howy! We grew up together! I treat you as my brother! We are family!" Ani Macky na halata sa boses ang pagtatampo at naiintindihan ko yon.

"Macky, I'm sorry I didnt tell you. It was just so sudden." Nasabi ko na lang. Kahit ako nga ay di makapaniwala sa lahat ng nagawa ko. Kulang ang salitang masaya sa bokabularyo ko ngayon.

"Why did you do it Howy? Why did you marry Althea?" Ani Macky, alam kong hinuhuli nya ako.

"Why else Macky? Althea looks exactly like you." I tried to joke around. Making light of the situation to lighten Macky's mood.

I know it's wrong but I tried to keep my feelings to myself first. Macky is exactly like her grandfather. They like controling people and they are demanding. I dont want her to tell me that I'm just creating problems by marrying Althea. Not now, when I am trying hard to make my own reasons to myself a rightful one, a sensible one... an acceptable one.

"Howy! No you didnt!" Macky said. Shocked at what I said and I chuckled at her reaction.

"I already did. You know I have always been crazy with you, maliliit pa tayo may gusto na ako sayo kaya lang ayaw mo sa akin so might as well have the look-a-like right?" I added with a smile tugging in my lips. Then she saw right through my act. She is wise that way. Binatukan nya ako gaya ng lagi nyang ginagawa pag alam nyang kalokohan na ang sinasabi ko.

"You are really stupid Howy, I know why you did this! Dont make this about your unrequited love! Abuelo put you up on this, right?! Tama ba ako na si Abuelo ang nagsabi sayo na pakasalan sya?" I chuckled at her accussations. If she only knew what I've been through just to make her grandfather give me his blessings.

"I know I'm right Howy! Abuelo wanted her close so he told you to marry his long lost grandchild! Why would you let Abuelo manipulte you too Howy?!" I sighed at Macky's words. She really thought her grandfather arranged this when in fact I've been working hard to make this marriage happen.

"Stop being nosy Macky. Dont overanalyze things. What's important is that you have the chance to be close to your sister and I'm now your brother-in-law. The reason for this marriage is for mine alone. I decided on it." Matigas na sagot ko. Hindi ko pa kasi handang aminin ang lahat. Lalo na at hindi ko pa din naaamin talaga kay Althea ang lahat.

"You know I dont want to be close to her. Mas pinili siya ni Papa kesa sa amin ni Vanna." Puno ng pait na sagot ni Macky. I shook my head in disagreement.
