“Can we please get some help?” Niall said exasperatedly, “We’ve been here for hours!”

“Sir, as you can see we’re quite busy at the moment so just take a seat and wait; that’s all you can do right now.” The receptionist said to him and with a sigh, Niall came back and sat beside me once more.

“Do you need anything?” Danielle asked me

“No, I’m fine, we should just leave; I don’t need to be here.” I tried to tell them but they weren’t having any of it.

My friends had forced me to sit with my foot up and had gotten me and ice pack that was now resting on it. They were all gathered around me and hadn’t left my side since we got here.

“Hannah O’Reilly?” a nurse said, coming into the crowded waiting room and everyone except me stood up.

“Whoa, which on of you is it?” she questioned and I put my hand in the air, “Can you walk?” she asked and I shook my head, “I’ll go get a wheelchair then.” She declared, but before she could turn around to get one, Niall had scooped me up in his arms and carried me over to her. Everyone began to follow but the nurse raised a hand.

“Whoa, only this one since he’s carrying her guys; sorry the rest of you will have to wait.” She declared and they all groaned and sat back down.

“Guys, go back to the hotel and get some sleep!” I pleaded but they sat stubbornly and I just sighed before I was carried off for x-rays.

And hour later I was waiting in a room with Niall. X-rays had been done and we’d been told a doctor would tell us what was going on momentarily.

I lay back on the bed and Niall squeezed my hand which he’d been holding the whole time.

“You’re amazing, you know that?” I said and it was true. Not everyone would sit around with someone for hours waiting to hear from a doctor.

Niall smiled at me and leant over to kiss me on the forehead, and at the same moment, the curtain around us was drawn back and a doctor came in the room.

“Hello there.” He said in a cheery Aussie accent, “I’m Doctor Kelly; I hear you’ve been waiting quite a while?”

“Feels like forever.” Niall confirmed and Doctor Kelly smiled kindly at us.

“Well, I have some bad news. One of the bones in your foot is broken and it’ll need to be casted for the next two weeks.” He declared and Niall groaned and I felt my heart drop. I’d be in a cast for the rest of the tour!

“Good news though is that you can pick any colour you want for the cast since we have them all.” Doctor Kelly said and I smiled slightly; he was trying to make this shitty situation better and I appreciated it.

“I’ll go get the things for the cast, you choose your colour.” He said before leaving and when he did I let out a sigh.

Niall saw my expression and turned my face so it was looking at him.

“Hey, don’t worry; it’ll be ok.” He said reassuringly

“I know, it just sucks that I have to wear a cast for the rest of the tour.” I said sadly

“Tell you what, when you get better, I’ll take you back here and to New Zealand so we can see them together and without a cast; deal?” he asked hopefully and I smiled and kissed him for a few seconds before pulling back and saying, “Deal.”

We were both still grinning when Doctor Kelly came back in with a casting cart.

“What did you decide on?” he asked and I looked at Niall, not caring what colour it was.
