Three days passed, and it was soon Friday. I woke up that morning with L pressing kisses to my face. I opened my eyes and saw him smiling down at me, and my heart and stomach did flips.

"How do you feel?" He asked, his hand teasing under my shirt a little, tracing my stomach.

"Nervous, excited." I smiled and he leaned down again and kissed my lips ever so sweetly, and I drank it all up.

"You guys done? You have a wedding today. Come on!" Mello banged on the door, making us pull apart, and L groaned softly.

"I could get rid of him." He offered.

"No, go on. We have time for this later. After we're married." I smiled, pushing his chest back. He smirked at me, kissing me a last time before walking out with his suit.

I sat up in bed and looked at our bags packed in a corner, my dress hanging up in its bag outside the closet, and my makeup on the vanity.

I checked my phone for the time, and sighed. I am getting married in three hours. Fuck.

Near walked in and climbed on the bed with me. "You okay?" He asked, looking at me as he settled in my arms.

"I think so. I have no idea..." I sighed and looked at the ceiling as Matt came in.

"Come on, you need breakfast. Can't have you passing out at the aisle." He said, and I rolled my eyes at him before slipping out of bed with Near and throwing on a pair of sweatpants before going down to the kitchen with them.

"We have some waffles left... want those?" Matt asked.

"I am way too nervous to eat..." I wrung my hands a bit.

"What's wrong with her? She's not getting cold feet, is she?" Mello walked in, nibbling a chocolate bar, asking.

"She's just nervous. Just trying to get some food in her." Matt said.

"I'm right here." I smiled at my boys.

"Then sit." Matt kicked out a chair and I sat as he reheated a waffle, topped it with some cut strawberry slices and whip cream. "Eat." He said and handed me a fork.

"Yes, sir." I laughed a little, and in a few minutes, the waffle was gone, and I was feeling a little better.

"Two hours thirty minutes. What are you gonna do?" Mello asked.

"Shower, hair, makeup, dress." I sighed, standing and going to my room to shower. I took my time shaving and pampering myself, this was my fucking special day. When I stepped out, I put on my special underwear and dried my hair, syling it back into elegant little curls, half up half down. I took my time with my makeup, keeping it soft and elegant, my eyes shaded to perfection with taupes and rose golds. Today was a day where I could proudly say my eyebrows were perfect.

I soon slipped on the dress, packed my stuff a bit more, and with fifteen minutes to go, paced nervously in my room, shoes by the bed, bouquet on the bed.

"Fuck. Jesus, fucking... fuck... calm down." I sighed, arms crossed over me, warming me up. "It's just L... just Lawliet. You said it your fucking self, you've practically been married for years now. This just makes it official." I sighed and my door creaked open, and I saw Near, and he beamed.

"You're beautiful." He said and I opened my arms, kneeling down a little, and he hugged me.

"It's time." Mello said by the door, and I nodded, slipping on my shoes and grabbing the bouquet. I walked down the stairs to the front and saw Wammy in a suit, and I smiled as he lead me to the car. He drove a little down the road and we got to the church right on time. The boys went to go join the audience, and Wammy lead me to the front doors, taking my arm.

I'd asked him to give me away in place of my birth father, given that Wammy has been a father figure to us all.

"Ready?" He asked.

I took a breath. "As I'll ever be. And if he doesn't cry at least a little as I'm walking down the aisle, I'm turning my ass right back around." I said and he chuckled a little and opened the door.

The first thing I saw were the rows and rows of kids from the orphanage, along with the few adults who worked there. My eyes finally went to the altar, where Lawliet has never looked more handsome in a suit.

His eyes were on me, and a wobbly smile made its way onto his face. Wammy lead me forward, and all previous fears I had about tripping were out the window. My one goal was to get to L.

As I grew closer, I saw tears dotted his eyes, but he didn't let himself cry. When we made it up, Wammy pressed a kiss to my temple and placed my hand on his.

"You... look at you. You're beautiful." Lawliet said and let his fingers trace my hair a little.

"And you are exceptionally handsome." I took his hand down from my hair and held it back in mine.

The reverend had us say our vows, we didn't write any, so we just repeated after him, exchanged rings, brought by our ring boy, Near, and soon the time came.

After we said our I do's, L was getting giddy, a little too excited, and when the preacher said he could kiss me, the bride, L jumped at the opportunity, taking my face in his hands and lightly dipping me back as he kissed me.

I ruined it by giggling, and he grumbled. "You're not supposed to laugh." He said, pecking my lips.

"I can't help it, I'm sorry. You're too cute." I said and stroked his cheek as he smiled at me.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife." The preacher smiled at us.

"Finally!" Mello said and the kids started cheering as the two of us walked back down the aisle.

We all went back to the orphanage where we ate so much food, and a few hours later, Watari was flying us to Paris in L's private jet. I rolled my eyes when he told me he had a private jet.

But here the two of us were, setting down our bags in a bridal suite in a five star hotel in Paris.

"You alright?" Lawliet came up behind me and kissed my cheek. "How are you feeling? Mello told me you were so nervous this morning Matt had to force you to eat so you wouldn't pass out." He said.

"I feel... exhilarated. I feel rich. This is fucking fancy." I felt the silk sheets the hotel provided.

"You hungry? We could go out, or get room service..." He hummed and I turned and put my arms around his neck, and he trailed off, his hands dropping to hold my hips.

"I have a better idea." I grinned and stretched a little ways up to bite his earlobe teasingly, then pulled back and gave him a smile.

"Let me help you get that dress off." He spun me around and untied the back. "It is very pretty on you, the boys told me that much."

"It was practically the only one they liked." I scoffed and he kissed up my shoulder blade to my neck as the dress dropped to the ground. L bent down to lift it and drape it somewhere safe, then turned me back around, lying us on the bed, and we made love for the first time after becoming husband and wife.

And it was marvellous.
