It's been a full week now that I've been with the task force, and I was now sitting at a table with them, bored out of my mind. I had my head tilted back and to the side, and slowly let my eyes fall closed.

I felt my head falling as I dozed off, and jolted awake, lifting my head again. I blinked and saw L looking at me, and I rolled my eyes at him.

"You're a hypersomniac." He noted and the task force seemed to be confused as to why he wasn't talking about Kira.

"Took you long enough. Idiopathic hypersomnia, to be exact." I hummed.

"What's that?" Matsuda asked, and I sat up and stretched a little.

"You all must know by now that L rarely ever sleeps. He's an insomniac. Well, I'm a hypersomniac, meaning I sleep too much. Idiopathic hypersomnia is close to narcolepsy, only a little different." I explained.

"She's harder to wake up, and when she does, she's basically drunk." L said and I nodded.

"Also, you wouldn't know this about me. Happened after we knew each other." I said to him and he nodded.

"Go sleep." He said, and I didn't argue, just got up and walked to my room, and the second I fell on my bed, I was out.

I didn't dream, and it seemed like mere seconds before I waking to someone shaking my arm gently and calling my name.

"Rosie. Rosie, it's time to wake up now." I heard L's voice, and I groaned and squinted my eyes to see his face.

"Are you awake?" He asked.

"If I am, you're going to die." I mumbled and closed my eyes again, letting my head fall back down. I gave a huge yawn, and that woke me up a bit.

"Mother..." I yawned again. "Fucker. What time is it and what are you doing in my room?" I asked.

"It's about ten and you haven't eaten." He said and I gave a small smile.

"You're a sweetheart, Lawliet." I sighed and worked to sit up, and he helped me. I sat there until I was awake, then checked my reflection and saw my paint had only slightly smeared. Nice.

"Careful. Can't say my name to loudly." I heard him chuckle. "Two Kira's are still in the building."

"Don't these people have lives? The fuck are they still doing here?" I asked, walking out with him, yawning even more.

"Night shift surveillance." He said. "I'm taking a break right now to make sure you eat." He smiled down at me, and I wanted to hug him so badly.

I cooked up some ramen for me, and asked L if he wanted some, and he said he was fine. I hummed as I cooked, and he sat at the table behind me.

"I recognise that tune." He suddenly said.

I looked back and smiled. "You should. It's one of my favourite songs, if not my favourite." I said.

"What's it called?" He asked, looking curious.

"On Melancholy Hill." I answered and turned back around to finish and fill a bowl with the noodles. Ha, Noodle. On Melancholy Hill is a song by the Gorillaz and their guitarist is named Noodle. I'm hilarious.

I ate in silence as L stared at a place on the table, his thumb on his lip, deep in thought.

"Did you sing often?" He asked suddenly, making me look up at him as I slurped a noodle into my mouth.

"I did. The kids loved it when I sang to them. The younger ones would get me to sing lullabies." I smiled softly. "I sang On Melancholy Hill quite a lot, actually. It was one of your favourites." I hummed.

"Was it?" He hummed and I soon had finished my ramen, and we stood so he could get back to work and I could go back to sleep.

He walked me to my room and placed a soft brush of a kiss on my forehead before he jumped back, looking shocked at himself.

"I'm sorry. I don't know why I did that..." He apologised.

"It's alright. Don't worry." I smiled at him. "I do." I said and he relaxed a little.

"Goodnight, L." I said and stepped into my room.

"Goodnight, Rosie." He said before I shut my door and he walked away.

As I turned, I pressed my fingers to that spot on my forehead and beamed. It burned white hot, and I loved it.

I hadn't felt his lips in six years, and damn was it worth it.
