"You should reconsider this. Like I said, it's a risk unnecessary," stated Inspector general of police, Mumbai. I am sure he has a serious disapproving face. He was totally annoyed with the whole situation since the moment he came from Mumbai to our palace in Dehradun.

"He is right you know," Jay whispered beside me.

"Shh!" I whispered back. I seriously don't want to get caught for eavesdropping. We both are listening to our parents talking with few government officials. They all came to the city just to convince our dad otherwise. I am an adult, they should be talking to me. But they decided to talk about me without my presence.

"All her life she had to live in this castle, with guards following her everywhere just because she is in the line of hierarchy. She is young and she deserves to live her life freely. All she asked for is to have one or two normal years. She is trained to protect herself and my son will be going with her. So I am more than willing to take the risk for her happiness," dad said in a determined tone making me smile.

I looked at Jay smugly while he was shaking his head at me. It's not easy for dad to agree but he did it for me even though he wishes to keep me right in front of his eyes so that no harm can ever come to me.

"What about her health?" one of them asked making me wince inside. I think it's the governor. The whole room turned entirely silent with his question.

"Her previous doctor is now practicing in Mumbai. He is close to our family and he will be monitoring her conditions there regularly," mom said in a steady tone not indicating how much it hurts her to talk about my health. I have a heart condition since my birth that has no cure. I am 24 and I have only few years left to live. I am on transplant list, but with my O negative blood group it's kind of hard for a match.

I don't want to waste my remaining years living inside palace walls. I love my family and I love every second of their presence but I also want to experience a life of normalcy. Jay and I traveled out of country once but it did not end well. I almost got kidnapped there by our rivals. After that I was never allowed to leave the city. This is why I am getting a secured fake identity.

Jay squeezed my hand assuring and I smiled at him. Dad spoke again for the final time. "As long as we all keep her fake identity secret, she will be safe. You already know why only four of you are present here, We don't trust anybody else. There is obviously a mole among other officials. I know you are worried about the royal bill, but I promise you she will sign the bill as decided, on her coronation day," he said in a tone leaving for no argument.

There are many royal legacies in our nation. But my family legacy, The Rajput Legacy is above all. We all are bound to a royal contract which says that as long as there is a Rajput heir to claim the legacy no other royal family can get their hands on the royal money. My ancestors made sure that no royal family can misuse royal gold and money, including our own. It all goes to government funds. We royals don't hold a political power but we do have a significant political influence and economic influence.

All the income that comes through tourists visitations, and the secret royal treasures go to the government funds. We and all other legacies get two to four percent of it annually. Our family need to make sure this tradition passes on. Since I am the heiress, I need to sign the royal bill to keep this continuity on my twenty fifth birthday. Although many of other royal families have same belief, few don't.

Our main rivals are Yaduveers. They tried to kill me few times and we couldn't prove it's them. Their family is evil and cunning. They are so power hungry and all they have to do is eliminate me. If there is no Rajput heir, there is no bill, no contract. Since they are next in holding legacy rank, they get the power to claim the money by themselves which will decline our nation's income. There are many public helping centers and shelters run by Rajput organisation. They all will get demolished.

Unfortunately government can't interfere royal contract. It was made like that, centuries back. Yaduveer family also has few government officials in their pockets. Their hatred and jealousy for my family goes way back. They never seem to understand the fact that my family welfare is not just because of the royal tag but because of the business organisations we own.

Jay and I heard the chairs scraping and moved back. "If this is your final decision then these are her new identity details as you requested Mr. Rajput," deputy general said to our dad. Soon Jay and I heard their footsteps and we fleeted from there.

We hid in the hallway next to the room silently. Mom and dad called us when the officials left. We walked back in to the room and dad looked at us smiling.

"You both obviously heard everything, here is your new identity," he said holding out the file.

I took the file and opened it. Jay standing beside me read it as well.

"Avishi Raj Rajput to Avi Gupta. Blech," he said making a grossed out face. Mom laughed at that while dad and I rolled our eyes.
