Raksha Bandhan

Avishi Raj Rajput

"What are you doing?" I heard his voice from behind me.

Crap!

He caught me.

I turned around slowly with a sheepish smile.

Avikam entered inside the small room looking around all boxes and craft stuff.

"When you said you wanted to organize the craft room for Pari, I didn't think you meant at midnight," he said looking confused as to why I am doing this so late.

Because its Raksha Bandhan tomorrow I wanted this room ready so that Avikam can show it to Pari as a gift when she surprises him with Rakhi tradition. To be honest I wanted to do it yesterday but there was urgent work at the office, and I didn't want to slack off even if I am going to resign soon. The only free time I got I put that into working on this room.

After shopping spree and little pool time that day, Avikam gave me a tour of the entire mansion that left me speechless. Everything was so luxurious and eye capturing. Few rooms were still in the work of interior designing including this art craft room he wanted for Pari.

Jay arranged for all of our things to be packed and moved here. Avikam wanted me to stay in his room sharing the space. The idea was exciting, but I couldn't exactly keep my medicines a secret if I stay with him. I was glad Jay was there giving a disapproving look to Avikam and said I will be staying in another room. Avikam didn't complain and simply decided that my room would be the one right beside his room. He even sneaked into my room the first night and stayed until I dozed off.

"Ishu, what is the rush?" I heard him asking as he walked towards to me.

"I couldn't sleep so I thought I will occupy myself by doing this," I tried to convince him.

He wrapped his hand around my shoulder planting a kiss on the side of my head, "You should have joined me in my room, I am sure we could have done far better things if you aren't up for sleep," he whispered into my ear.

I smiled elbowing him slightly at his suggestion.

"I am talking about watching movies together or something Ishu," he said innocently.

"Sure," I muttered back with narrowed eyes.

"Are you sure you are not trying to hide from me?" he questioned, and I pulled away from him slightly.

"Look who is talking!" I said shaking my head in fake disappointment.

"What is that supposed to mean?" he asked staring at my face intensely.

"You tell me, I met Kushi or is it, Joy? your almost fiancee," I hinted at him stepping back with my arms crossed.

I wasn't really angry, but I decided to pull his leg a bit.

"Ha," he exclaimed shaking his head, "Kush told me his sister met you and I was hoping she didn't say something to upset you."

"So, she was telling truth? You guys were close enough to get engaged," I concluded narrowing my eyes.

"Not at all," he answered calmly, "When we were in college our parents wanted the alliance to happen but as soon as I got the wind of it, I shut it down because I had no interest and neither did she. Joy even went for extreme actions to avoid the engagement. As far as our relationship, trust me she has always been just Kushal's sister to me nothing else. She did hang out with us back in those days, but Tarak was the one who used to be close with her."
