Aftermath

I always wanted to be on a carnival ride especially the extreme ones. But my heart condition doesn't allows me and my overprotective mother never let me even on a small Ferris wheel. I suppose I should enjoy this unstable elevator bumpy ride. I mean this would be a tale to tell right? An exciting and frightening experience except that I need to make it out alive to share it.
Elevator jumped up a bit making my heart feel heavy. I might get a heart stroke if I am not out of here and breathe in some fresh air soon. Avikam held me tight in his lap with his arm around me while gripping the handrail with his other hand. His firm grip is what keeping both of us from jerking and bouncing around along with glass pieces.
I heard a loud cracking sound nearby making me look around. My eyes widened when I saw that it was from the remaining mirror piece on the wall above Avikam. I instantly pulled him towards me by holding his shirt's collar with my right hand and covered the back of his head with my left arm.
There was shattering behind him and I felt a sting on side of my hand. At last we came to a standstill and glass pieces around us made clinking noises before coming to stop.
"Are you ok? I think we should stand up," I told him. He nodded at my suggestion and carefully stood up with me in his arms. He gazed at me intensely before letting me down slowly. I retracted my hands from his neck looking away.
I took a step back and adjusted my skirt. My eyes landed on the crimson liquid dropping from my hand. I opened my mouth and closed it back. Too much blood makes me uncomfortable so I averted my gaze. Avikam noticed it and held my hand making me look at him. He lifted it gently to see the cut.
"Shit!" he said in a tense tone realizing the bleeding didn't stop.
"It's fine..... Its....." I couldn't even complete cause he snapped at me
"It's fine? Really? The glass piece cut your skin and its bleeding too much, yet you are calm like Buddha," he took the pocket square from his coat and wrapped it around back of my wrist. I tried to come up with a retort but I couldn't breathe properly. He put pressure on the wound frowning deeply.
"You pulled me closer to you so that I won't get injured," he said looking back at the huge glass shreds and turned towards me in disbelief, "You do realize that's a stupid move right?"
I took a deep breath starting to find difficulty in it. "If I didn't do that the glass...... would have pierced into your...... skull," I spoke more like choked out.
"Are you ok?" he asked looking distraught.
I frowned feeling dizzy, "I can't breathe," I wheezed out.
I felt his hand on my shoulder but couldn't concentrate. I tried to pull at scarf around my neck feeling suffocated. I couldn't focus starting to feel chest pain. My hand was gently pulled away and the scarf was removed. I rubbed my right hand on my chest starting to get anxious. He was saying something but I couldn't hear him.
I felt his hands on my face, "Listen to me..... Look at me..... Just keep breathing slowly...... " he kept saying cupping my cheeks trying to get me focus. Looking into his eyes I tried to calm down but the air around made me more sick.
I heard sound of door opening. His eyes looked away from mine for a second before exhaling in relief. He lifted me in his arms gently and walked out. I felt the gush of cool air making me feel like I can finally breathe. I still felt dizzy when I was seated on a soft surface. I heard voices making me wince and close my eyes.
