"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Rory asked Lux nervously as he straightened his collar and adjusted his tie so he looked picture perfect. "I mean are you sure you wanna meet my parents?"

"We've been dating for a while, I mean it's not the longest while but when I go to college your parents are gonna think I'm imaginary." Lux said, he was wearing formal attire and a 'cutie patootie with a booty' apron that was bright pink, it was a gift from Angelo who always said he had the better ass out of them.

"Ok. You're right. There's no need to be nervous." Rory said and gave Lux a quick peck on the lips before rejoining his parents at the dinner table.

"I can't wait to meet her! She'd look lovely in my old dress-oh Roland!" Mrs.Blue, Darcy, said not noticing her sons presence till he sat across from her, "I was just telling your father how excited I am to meet your girlfriend!"

"Mom, I don't think anyone wants to drown in frills anymore." Rory snickered.

"I think you looked like gorgeous in those frills." Rory's father, William said, holding Darcy's hand. "But I preferred what was under the frills." He said said quietly so Rory wouldn't hear.

"I was wearing another layer under the frills?" Darcy said confused.

William rolled his eyes at his wife's obliviousness. "Never mind," he said and turned back to Rory. "So tell us more about your girlfriend Roland."

"Oh um," Rory awkwardly looked around. "It's a new relationship so we don't know much about each other I guess." He lied fiddling with his fingers.

"Well the description you gave about her sounds like she's a classic beauty! Defined jaw and cheeks, long lashes, blonde hair the colour of sand with brown roots, blue gem eyes!" His mother beamed.

"Wow son," his dad said nodding. "She sounds like a catch. What's she like?"

"Um they're really nice, and sweet. We went to the ice skating rink and I finally learnt how to ice skate!" Rory said remembering that's where their first kiss took place.

"Aww! I remember when your father took me ice skating, we made you in the changing rooms!" His mother piped.

"Oh god mom!" Rory cringed. "TMI!"

William let out a hearty laugh, "don't be such a prude!"

"Rory I finished the lamb chops!" Lux walked in holding the food, still wearing his apron.

Darcy's jaw dropped and her eyes widened when realising Rory's girlfriend was actually his boyfriend.

"Um mom, dad." Rory said looking at Lux. "Meet my boyfriend, Lux Casters." Rory took the dish out of Lux's hand and set on the table. He offered Lux the seat next to him.

His father coughed before asking. "So how long have you two been dating?"

"A while," Lux said forgetting about his inappropriate apron.

"Nice apron you have there..." Darcy said cringing at it.

Lux looked down and his cheeks flared, he hastily took his apron off and chucked it aside, "my sister gave it to me," he said.

"Oh," his father said uncomfortably. "So how did you two meet?"

"Um I tutor his sister." Rory said as he took a hold of Lux's hand underneath the table.

Lux was trembling under the table and the warmth of Rory's hand calmed him down, he awkwardly looked at his plate.

"Well he certainly won't look good in my dress..." Darcy mumbled while eating some vegetables.

William takes a mouthful of Lux's cooking. "Wow," he said surprised. "This is actually really good!"

"Thank you!" Lux smiled and poured everyone some water, considering the fact that a drunk Rory and Lux was not an appropriate sight.

"You should teach Roland here, he cannot cook to save his life!" William said taking another bite.

"Or marry him so you could cook for him!" Darcy joked and ate some more food, "any champagne?" She asked.

"No!" Lux and Rory said in sync.

"So Lux, tell us more about yourself." William said taking a sip of his water.

"I enjoy poetry, me and my sister write it all the time and occasionally read out Edgar Allan Poe's works, or some not as well recognised poets like Christina Rossetti." Lux explained.

"Ooh, classy." Darcy said sipping water as well.

Just then Williams phone rings. "Excuse me," he says apologetically. "It's was really nice meeting you Lux." He says and leaves the room.

"Well we'd better head out if it's a work call, lovely chatting with you!" Darcy said, the two of them left after 5 minutes because of an unexpected work call.

"Well that was successful." Rory grinned at Lux.

"Very, now shall we crack the champagne and commit sinful acts?" Lux asked allowing his weirdness to explode.

"Most certainly." Rory grinned. Tonight really had been a goodnight and he wished it could be like this all the time.
