Chapter 11

Alden was pacing back and forth sa labas ng emergency room at hindi ito mapakali habang si Maqui naman ay busy sa telepono.

Natigil ang dalawa ng lumabas ang doctor.

"how is she doc.?" unang tanong ni Maqui.

"she's stable now. We'll transfer her to the ICU for farther observation" kalmadong sagot ng doktor.

"what's wrong with her.?" tanong ni Alden sa doktor pero ngiti lang ang sinagot nito sa binata.

"miss Farr I'll just wait for you in my office" baling ng doktor kay Maqui at tumango lang ang dalaga.

"It’s normal" panimula ng doktor kay Maqui habang nag-uusap sila sa opisina nito.

"what she's experiencing is just normal for a transplant person, just always remind her that she must not push herself to the limit cause her new heart is still adjusting"

Tumango lang si Maqui.

"Julie's dad is on his way here, I just explain everything to him"

"Don't worry to musch okay, Julie was always been a survivor" naka ngiting sabi ng doktor.

Tahimik na binabantayan ni Alden si Julie sa kwarto nito sa ospital. Matapos ng iba't-ibang test na ginawa ng mga doktor sa kanya ay nilipat na ito sa regular na kwarto.

"she's so fragile"

Napalingon si Alden sa narinig, nakita niya si Maqui na nakatayo sa pintuan. Hindi niya namalayan ang pagdating nito dahil sa sobrang pagtutok niya kay Julie.

"I can see that" mahinang sabi ni Alden sabay hawak sa kamay ni Julie. "Maq what's wrong with her.?"

"hindi ko alam kung ako ba dapat ang magsabi nito sayo"pagdadalawang isip ni Maqui "o kung gusto ba niyang malaman ng ibang tao"

Hindi na nagsalita si Alden at tumingi na direcho sa mata ni Maqui.

Humuhgot ng malalim na hininga si Maqui bago magsalita ulit.

"heart failure" panimula nito at nakita niya ang pag-iba ng ekpresyon ng binata "we found out 4years ago and that was a living hell for all of us"

"a- a what?" utal na sabi ni Alden, bakas sa mukha nito ang gulat. "Heart Failure?"

Maqui gave him a sad smile and nod. "Julie undergo a heart transplant. . . .  twice, . . . . first it was a artificial heart, a pacemaker.  . . everything was fine, she survive her crucial surgery and happily engaged to the man she choose, her best friend Sam but things happened"

Flash back

"Maq she said YES.!" masayang sabi ni Sam when Maqui answered his call.

"really! OH MY GAD! I'm happy for the both of you" masayang rin bati nito sa kanya.

She's really happy that her cousin said yes to Sam's proposal, ilang linggo rin naman kasi nilang pinag planohan ang proposal at may blessing rin ito ng chairman.

Maqui know that Sam will take good care of Julie more than his life because she saw it from the very first day. She was there when he fall in love with her, she was there when things was a mess and saw Sam comforted her cousin, she was there when Sam let her go when Julie found a true love with Elmo, she saw Sam never leave on Julie's side when she needed the most.

Maqui knew that Julie was still in love with Elmo even though she's starting to have a new relationship with Sam. It's Julie's way of moving on because Elmo was never been there, it's was Sam who really got her back and never let her go.
