Chapter 21

~*Time skip a few days later*~

*Reader's POV*

I rode beside Levi as we reached the tall trees, still feeling uneasy about being out in the open I looked towards Levi who gave me a reassuring nod. I faced forward following Erwin's horse as I tried to remember how a small friendship formed between Humanities Strongest and myself. But soon I was pulled away from my thoughts when a Titan appeared. The Titan had a visible female form with high muscle definition. Her form physically fit and stronger, and mostly exposed muscle and bone. But it was the intelligence in her eyes as she ran towards us that strengthened my resolve.

I knew who this was and I wouldn't let her win. Levi and the others branched off as I stayed by Erwin's side. We launched ourselves onto a branch. Erwin gave me a nod and I bolted off quickly adding more kills to the ones I had. Blood sprayed onto my face and uniform before it fades as I fought. When the female Titan caught up I returned to Erwin and Levi, only to leave as soon as I arrived. I flew next to Levi as we made our way towards Levi's Squad. Suddenly I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up and I looked back only to see the female Titan being eaten.

Levi met my startled gaze and told me to continue as he stayed behind to fight. I nodded and continued on my way towards Eren as well as the others. Only I arrived to late, Eld, Oulo and Gunther had been killed while Petra flew to protect Eren. Suddenly I saw a figure flying into the trees heading for Petra and I quickly made my way to intercept the blow. So when the figure attacked, my blade was what they hit. I was on a branch ready to attack once more when I suddenly felt excruciating pain. Looking down I realized that a tip of a blade stuck out of my skin.

The blade had been broken by our bodies colliding. Suddenly I was pushed, I tried to rebalance myself but my body had gone numb. The last thing I saw was Petra's smug look turning to horror as the figure became the female Titan. I continued to fall until a large hand caught me, then I saw nothing but darkness.

*Levi's POV*

I arrived in time to help Mikasa retrieve Eren from the female Titan's mouth and quickly we fled to the others. I placed Eren in a cart until he regained consciousness. When we arrived to the base we were short on bodies we brought back with us, and then I realized that Y/N wasn't anywhere amongst us. Eren and Mikasa as well as the other's in Y/N's trainee Squad stood in front of me. A few asking me if I'd seen her. "Does anybody know where Y/N is?" I demanded. Eren shot a glance towards Mikasa who slowly shook her head. I caught the exchange and said coldly "When did you realize that Y/N wasn't with you?"

Once more they shared a look and I said "If you don't tell me what you know, all of you will be forced to clean the base with a toothbrush. Do you understand me Brats?" Eren sighed and said "L/N came too late to save the others but she arrived in time to protect Petra. She collided with the female Titan's human form and came back wounded. The last thing I saw before I became a Titan was L/N falling and the female Titan catching her." "Did you see who wounded her?" I demanded coldly.

Mikasa shot Eren a glance who nodded. Then she looked at me and said "I believe that it was Petra's blade that wounded her. She was behind L/N when L/N collided with the female Titan's human form. She was also standing behind her when L/N fell. She fled as soon as the female appeared. She died while running. That was all I could see before Eren was attacked." "So you're telling me that Y/N is somewhere beyond the walls alive, wounded and possibly unconscious?" I demanded icily. "Yest Captain" Eren said.

I rubbed my nose then looked towards the wall and said "Then there's nothing we can do except hope that she makes it back alive."
