Chapter 23

~*Time skip 2 months later*~

*3rd Person POV*

Levi and Hange were discussing attack strategies when Hanges suddenly asked "How is she?" Levi sighed and said "She's back teaching, but she seems different. Even her Squad can sense the disquietness in her. She's also training by herself more, her training harsher than the training she gives her Cadets. She pushes herself to the limit everyday so that when she sleeps everything fades away." "Has she accepted any new Cadets for training?" Hange asked. He shook his head and said "No, she told me that she'd take on a new group next year."

"Your worried about her" Hange stated after awhile. Levi shot her an icy glare to which she responded to by laughing. "Well aren't you?" he retaliated. "Of course I am, but I know it'll take time. She's very strong, and when strong people finally reach their limit only time can give their souls rest. She's been through a lot and I imagine that her heart is as heavy as her soul Captain" she replied. His steel colored gaze narrowed as he said "You've ben taking Smith's philosopohy to far Shitty Glasses." To which she laughed again and they continued to plan.

*Reader's POV*

I sat in Annie's cell while she was encased in crystal. I stood dusting off my uniform when the door opened. There standing in the doorway was Bertolt and Reiner. They froze when they saw me standing there they quickly saluted. "What are you doing here Squad Leader?" asked Reiner. I smiled and said "I come in here every day at the same time to keep her company." "Why?"asked Bertolt. I shrugged and said "She saved my life the lease I can do I end this silence by reading to her. But now that you know my intentions what are yours."

"She's our friend" Reiner said. "Yes I know how close you are" I said softly then grabbed the book and started ot leave. I stopped a the door and said "The first time I saw the female Titan I knew exactly who she was. It was her eyes that gave her away. Cadet's I wish you the best of luck in your endever." Then left getting on my horse and headed back to the base. There on the bed staring me right in the face was Levi's uniform.

-*Flashback*-

"Oi Brat, how come your wearing the infirmary garb and not your uniform? You know that your able to go back to your room right?" Levi asked his voice cold and sharp like always. "Yes Captain Levi, but the fact that my uniform was un-salvageable can't be changed. So I'm at a slight disadvantage until a new one is given to me" I answered smartly. "Well why didn't you say so Brat" he snapped. "I just did" I said and he shot me a glare before leaving. After a few minutes he came back with some clothes in his hands. "Here were these until you get a new one" he said and handed them to me. Immediately I knew that they were his and said "It would be inappropriate for me to wear your uniform Captain Levi."

"Just put them on" he said coldly. I carefully nodded accepting the uniform. Then he said "You tell anyone about this Brat and I'll kill you." I met his gaze and said "I won't have too. They'll know the minute they see me wearing them." He glared then abruptly left. After I changed he came back and together we walked to my room."

-*Flashback end*-

I grabbed the clothes and headed towards his office. I knocked and when he said something I entered. When I walked in I saw him sitting at his desk doing paperwork. I very quietly walked across the room and carefully placed the clothes on his desk. I had just turned to make my escape when he moved. I looked over my shoulder to find him watching me once more. I glared at him and said "If I said this once I'll say it again either kiss me or hit me, but for god's sake stop watching me!!" He stood and walked towards me. Suddenly he grabbed my arms, pulled me towards him and I fell against his chest. Then I felt a pair of soft lips press against my own.

My eyes closed as Levi kissed me harder his arms slowly going around my body. One hand slid down to cup my hip, the other up my spine and into my hair. He carefully tilted my head to the side to kiss me better licking my bottom lip, but I wasn't sure what he wanted. He slowly pulled away his voice low as he asked "Have you never been kissed before Brat?" Shaking my head he said "Then allow me to give you a better demonstration." He pulled me closer and ordered "Open your mouth." I blinked and obliged only for him to slide his tongue into my mouth and the kiss became instantly rougher and hotter than anything I had ever felt before.

Suddenly I slid a hand into his hair and returned his bold move with one of y own. All too soon he pulled away, both of our lips swollen and glistening from our passion filled kiss. Panting for breath as if I had just completed 9 laps around the base I shyly met his gaze. I released a small gasp when I saw his eyes. They were the color of liquid mercury filled with something I couldn't name. Just as suddenly his eyes turned cold and hard as he walked away. He sat back down at his desk to continue his work.

He didn't look away from his paper work as he icily said "You are dismissed." And I stiffly bowed before I left closing the door silently behind me.
