Jasmine's POV
Pippa was late... She was always on time when it was show days... She never missed a show and I felt terrible when she wasn't here... I never felt right. It was getting dangerously close to show time and I hadn't even gotten a text or call from her... Renee had already gotten dressed and was ready for the show while I lagged behind in getting ready.
"Do you know where Pip is?" I asked her.
"I think she caught the flu." She said while doing the finishing touches to her makeup. I frowned and pulled out my phone. Still nothing... I walked into our bathroom and decided to call her. Maybe she would pick up...
"Hello...?" Pippa answered. She sounded so sick... I heard her coughing as well and I immediately felt terrible for her.
"Did I wake you up?" I frowned.
"Yeah, but it's okay." She coughed. "I needed to take another dose of medicine." She sounded so congested and terrible... "I'm sorry I didn't text or call. When I woke up I just texted Tommy to let him know I wasn't going to be there..." she sniffed. I frowned and thought about her replacement. Carleigh was was great and all, but it wasn't my Pippa. I didn't even share that many scenes together, but still.
"It's alright. Do you want me to pick you up anything?" I asked.
"I don't want to get you sick." She replied.
"Pippa, I'll be fine." I laughed. "I'll pick you up some soup. Does that sound good?" I smiled to myself. The thought of her being sick was usually unheard of, but at least I got to take care of her.
"It does..." She said before coughing. "Break a leg Jas. I wish I could be there to give you at least a hug." She sighed.
"Don't worry. You'll be able to hug me in a few hours." I laughed. "Get some more rest. I'll be home before you know it." I smiled. Pippa was going to have to get better soon. This wasn't okay.
When the show ended I hurried down the road to pick up some things for Pip. Jonathan came with me since he worried about her too. That and it was dark out so he didn't want me to get snatched on the road.
"You're such a nice person." Jonathan smiled while holding the shopping basket.
"Thank you Groffsauce." I smiled while placing a few cans of soup in the basket. "Maybe she'll like these?" I asked him while picking up some oranges. He nodded and I was glad he came with me. We both knew Pippa well enough by ourselves, but together we knew so much more.
When I got to Pip's apartment I had trouble finding her key. She had texted me in a code... Well not really a code, but more like words were missing out of it. I frowned and just decided to try turning the knob. It opened, surprisingly, and I walked in.
"Pip? I'm here...." I said while walking through into her apartment. I didn't hear anything, so I set my bags down and took off my shoes. Maybe she was asleep? I wandered through to her room and saw her curled up in her bed, completely passed out. I smiled at her sleeping face, but it fell when I saw all of the tissues and medicine near her bed. "Oh little Pippy..." I frowned. She moved in her sleep and lifted up her head.
"How was the show?" She yawned.
"It was good." I said while sitting at the edge of her bed. "How are you feeling?" I said while placing my hand on her forehead. She was burning up. I looked back at the medicine she was taking and shook my head. "You need a fever reducer. This isn't going to cut it." I frowned while grabbing the medicine.
"Or maybe I just need you in my bed with me." She sniffed while smiling.
"Pippa, that's not going to work and you know that." I laughed. I stood up, kissed her forehead and went to go fix her something to eat. She needed to eat something tonight. I fixed her some soup, then started to fill up a cup of water for her. Pippa was sitting up scrolling through her phone when I came back in. "It's almost ready. You might want to come out here though. It's soup and I don't want you getting it all over you." I frowned. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes and she shook her head. "What?" I asked her.
"Look." She threw her phone at the end of the bed for me to pick up. I picked it up and saw what she was seeing... It was an article about the show, but it was focusing on Pip's and my role...
"What am I looking for?" I asked while scrolling through it.
"Third paragraph." She sniffed. I scrolled down and found what she was looking at...
'Through an anonymous source, we have found out that two girls who are playing the sisters in the show are together romantically. Now, to some it may be okay since they are just characters on stage and whatever they do on their free time off stage is none of our business, but these girls are very inspirational. Little girls who look up to these actresses may think it's okay to date your sister! Maybe this was what the creator wanted? If I were a parent to a small and very impressionable child, I would not let them see or hear anything of this show...'
How did someone find out?! The only person we told was Groff and even then he swore on his life...
"H-how did they find out...." I whispered.
"I don't know.. Who all knows?" Pippa frowned.
"Me, you and Groff...." I answered. Pippa's phone kept vibrating in my hand, texts from the rest of the cast... All asking what was our deal and why we didn't tell them... Lin had flipped out and had completely went into a full on interview session with her. She wasn't even replying to any of them... Which meant my phone was going to be blowing up too..
"What are we going to do?" Pippa cried. I sat with her on the bed and pulled her into a hug.
"We're just going to ignore the bad, maybe try and calm everyone down tomorrow. Lin sounds like he wants to have an emergency cast meeting to try and squash everything he can before any more bad press gets out..." I sighed. She nodded and looked down at the article. "Right now, let's worry about getting you food though... You need to eat something." I tried to smile, but it was really hard to when your whole life is going to be turned upside down again.
