Pippa's POV
"And that's why we didn't sign up for PTA." I laughed while sipping my tea. Renee shook her head and looked at Jasmine.
"Well it is true. Pippa told me the pros and cons to it." Jasmine shrugged.
"I just hate the fact that it's taking up so much of my time. It's crazy at the same time." Renee groaned while rubbing her face. "And it's not like the kids are getting any benefit out of this either." She sighed.
"Maybe you should bring it up in the next meeting..?" Jasmine smirked.
"You hush." Renee laughed. "By the way, love the new apartment. How did you guys get this?" She said while looking around the place.
"Luck." I mumbled under my breath. Jasmine hit my shoulder and glared at me. "We did a lot of cutting back." I shrugged. "But it'll be worth it when the little one gets here." I smiled.
"When are you two supposed to get the baby again?" She asked.
"Any day now. The woman is past due from what the doctors told us." Jasmine answered.
"We just hope she doesn't change her mind..." I frowned.
"I'm sure she won't. Well at least, hope she doesn't. You two have been waiting for a few months now." Renee sipped at her drink and looked down at her phone. "Well, my minions will be home soon, so I better get back. Call me if you get any news." She said while standing up. I felt a little vibration and looked down to see an unknown number calling.
"What?" Jasmine asked.
"I don't know." I mumbled before answering it. "Hello?" I answered.
"Mrs. Cephas Jones?" The man on the other line asked.
"Speaking..." I hesitated.
"This is Doctor Bernard from North Central. We are calling to inform you that your son was born and that in a couple of days you and your spouse will be able to pick him up to take him home." He spoke calmly. My hand flew over my mouth and I felt the tears coming on. "Do you two have a name picked out yet?" He asked.
"No..." I sniffed. "We.. Not yet..." I said while wiping my eyes.
"That's alright. When you come to pick him up, you can give us the name." He explained. "Have a wonderful day." He said quickly.
"Thank you. You too!" I said before hanging up.
"What's wrong?" Jasmine asked, placing her hand on my knee.
"Pippa, please talk to us..." Renee said while sitting next to me.
"That was the doctor. He said that our little boy was born." I sniffed. I looked up at Jasmine and I saw her eyes widen. "In a few days we can pick him up and everything is going to be great." I said while hugging her. I could tell she was crying with the way she was breathing, but we were so happy. We were going to have a little boy running around here and Diana was going to have a playmate for the rest of her life... Oh happy days.

"What about James?" I suggested.
"James?" Jasmine asked.
"Yeah. It shouldn't be too bad right?" I shrugged. Jasmine fixed her pillow and nodded.
"What about a middle name?" She asked while climbing into bed.
"Yeah I only got as far as the first name." I laughed.
"We can think more tomorrow. We pick him up in two days so we have a bit more time." She yawned. I nodded in agreement, hoping we would pick out a good name for him.
I stayed up, tossing and turning in bed. Jasmine was still asleep, but I couldn't sleep. I knew that I was going to regret everything if I didn't sleep now. But I was worried that everything was going to be scary and that I wasn't going to be a great parent. Of course Jasmine and Diana would say otherwise, I had been trying everything I could to make Diana happy and to make Jasmine happy.
I slid out of the bed and headed out to the kitchen. I just needed some water. Then I could sleep. Maybe. The kitchen seemed so quiet in the middle of the night. I knew that it should, but I wasn't used to it. I wasn't used to everything being so quiet all the time. I knew that when the new baby came home, he was probably going to be crying every few hours for whatever reasons... Hungry, dirty diapers... Just wanting to cuddle...
"What are you doing up?" I looked up from my thoughts and saw Jasmine walk into the kitchen with me.
"Just couldn't sleep." I shrugged.
"Come back to bed. We can do things that'll make you sleep after if you want." She smirked while wrapping her arms around my neck.
"As much as I would like that, I'm too worried about everything to do that." I groaned.
"Worried? About what?" She asked.
"What if adopting a little baby is going to make everything so scattered? Like we're never going to have time for Diana or each other?" I frowned.
"Phillipa. Stop overthinking everything. We're going to be okay." She kissed my cheek and pulled me up from the seat. "Now let's get to bed. We have a lot of things to get done before our little boy comes home." She smiled.
"Alright." I laughed. "I hope Diana will love him too. Do you think she will?" I asked.
"I'm sure she will. I just hope he'll love her too. I can see the arguments now." Jasmine laughed.
"Mom! James took my stuff!" I mimicked.
"Mom! Diana is taking my toys!" Jasmine laughed.
"We better hush. Don't want to wake up Di." I giggled. "Thank you." I smiled.
"You're welcome." She kissed me gently before we climbed back into bed together. I felt a little more at ease with everything now. Everything could be perfect now.
