Jasmine's POV
"You'll wake her up!" I hissed at Pippa. She had a cookie in her mouth while she placed presents under our Christmas tree. She had tripped over Diana's shoe and hit her toe on the leg of the coffee table. No idea why we didn't think to turn on the light prior to this.
"I'm sorry." She whispered while finishing her cookie. I sighed and handed her the rest of the presents we had gotten Di. I had a little present for Pip too that she didn't know about either. We were thinking of adopting again so that way Diana had a little brother or sister to grow up with. So I decided to begin searching for one myself.
"That's the last one." I whispered. Pippa nodded and handed me one of the cookies we set out. "Thank you." I smiled.
"Two in the morning. That has to be some new record." Pip sighed while taking a drink of the cup of milk. "And I'm pouring some of this out.." She shuttered.
"Is it that bad?" I laughed. She nodded while getting up. Guess we had the heaters on too high if the glass of milk went bad that quick. I placed my half eaten cookie down on the plate and stood up to head back to bed. Pippa came back with a half empty glass of milk and set it next to the plate we set out.
"There. Now we can sleep." She sighed. We walked back into the bedroom as quietly as we could, then flopped into our beds. It seemed like we were only asleep for a few seconds before Diana came into our room screaming, leaping into our bed.
"SANTA CAME!!!!" She squealed. Pippa sat straight up at her squealing, but immediately softened when she yelled about Santa. I groaned and checked the time. Five in the morning. What child wakes up at five in the morning on a not school day?! "Mommy! Mama! Get up! Santa came! Santa came! She said while jumping on our bed.
"We're up. We're up." I mumbled while reaching for my glasses. Pippa had hers on while typing her robe around her. Diana leaped off the bed and onto the floor, then took off down the hall towards the living room. "I wish I had her energy in the morning." I yawned. Pippa mumbled in agreement and shuffled out into the living room. I slid my slippers on and headed out to find a Pippa already attempting to make coffee. Diana was already tugging lightly at Pippa's robe, whining for us to go to the living room already.
"Just give us a minute. We need our wake up juice." Pippa said quietly. Diana huffed then walked into the living room to wait for us. I know she hated waiting, but it was going to have to wait. Once we had our coffee in hands, Diana immediately dug into her gifts. I sat next to Pippa on the couch, watching our daughter rampage under the Christmas tree.
"Do you think she'll like the gifts?" I whispered.
"Mhm." Pippa said while sipping her coffee. I smiled and leaned over to kiss her cheek. I had gotten her to smile, which was always a good thing since I couldn't ever not make her smile. It was perfect. Our tiny Godzilla rampaging through the city of gift boxes and bags was all I needed to enjoy my family.
"Mama, this one has your name on it." Diana said while holding up the thin envelope. I had found Christmas envelopes so I used them for the papers.
"I wonder what it is." Pippa mumbled while opening it. She pulled out the papers and skimmed over the words. I watched her eyes slowly widen and her mouth fell open. "You..." She said while looking at me.
"I did... And I really hope you're okay with it..." I smiled.
"Of course I am! How could I not be?!" Pippa yelled. Her arms wrapped tightly around me and she pressed her lips on mine. "I can't wait."
"What? Why is Mama so happy?" Diana asked while jumping on the couch with us. I smiled and sat her down on my lap.
"Well, Mama and I decided that we are going to get you a little brother or sister." I explained. Diana nodded and looked at Pippa.
"Why?" She asked.
"Because we want you to have a little sibling to grow up with." Pippa answered. Diana nodded and looked down at her hands. "What's wrong?" She frowned.
"Nothin'." Diana shrugged.
"Are you afraid that we're going to replace you?" I frowned. She shrugged and looked away from us. "Oh honey..." I said while hugging her tightly. "We could never replace you."
"You're the best thing that could ever happen to us." Pippa said while joining the hug. "We just have so much love to give that we know you'll get tired of it by next week. So we want to share it with another kid." She laughed. "Besides, don't you want a sibling to play with? One to tell all of your jokes to?" She asked.
"Well..." Diana smiled.
"See. Mama has a brother. You'll meet him soon. But she got to have someone in her life that would help her with anything no matter what. I didn't have that." I explained to her. "We want you to have that opportunity." I smiled.
"Okay! I want a sibling!!" Diana yelled. We laughed at her enthusiasm and continued our hug. Eventually Diana got tired of it and went back to her gifts that she hadn't opened yet.
"Do you like your gift?" I whispered to Pip.
"I love it. I really can't wait." She said while kissing my forehead.
"Me either."
