Pippa's POV

It was a no show day since we were still trying to buffer through the bumps in the show, and clean it up for Broadway. I sat in the Public, still pretty sick, with Jasmine and the rest of the cast. Tommy looked like he was going to kill someone, while Lac looked pretty relaxed... Lin was pacing back and forth, but that was nothing new...

"So..." Daveed spoke, breaking the silence in the theatre. Tommy looked up at him and waited. "What are we going to do?" He asked.

"You two are ending whatever you two have." Tommy pointed at Jasmine and I.

"Excuse me?!" Jasmine gasped. I shook my head and ran my hand through my hair.

"Okay that's a big no." Ariana jumped in. "You can't just end their perfectly happy relationship just because it's not good press!" She frowned.

"Yeah! Shouldn't we let the music and story be the way we make press? And not let the actors define this musical?" Betsey added. It was pretty sad that the ensemble jumped in to save our asses rather than the main cast....

"How long were you two together?" Renee asked us.

"Five months..." I answered without looking up at her.

"Oh.." She mumbled. Everyone started yelling at each other behind us. Groff stayed quiet, Thayne stayed quiet, Andrew was oddly quiet... I looked around at the rest of the cast that had been arguing. Lin still hadn't said a word yet...

"Enough!" Lin yelled. No one had heard him yell like that.... "Betsey and Ariana are right." He finally said.

"Pippa and Jas have been hiding it for a while now haven't they?" Andrew said quickly. "Why can't we deny everything and let them continue to hide their relationship? They seem so much happier that way. Right?" He looked at us and I shrugged. Lin looked at Tommy and sighed. I looked down at Jasmine, just to see her hugging her legs and crying. I scooted closer to her and wrapped my arm around her.

"Why does this have to happen?" She whispered.

"I don't know.. But I'm not going to leave you." I whispered back at her. "I promise." I kissed her head and waited for everyone to quiet down. But it wasn't going to be for a while. Renee looked at us and frowned... I didn't know what was going on in her head, but I just hoped that she was okay with this...

"I have a question." Andrew chimed in. "Would you make any of us end a relationship just because it gave the show bad press? Like let's say I decided to date someone in this show. Would you make me break up with them?" He asked.

"No. I wouldn't." Lin answered.

"It doesn't matter. It's going to get the ticket sales to drop." Tommy sighed.

"Actually ticket sales have boosted since the article came out last night." Lac said while checking his laptop. Everyone stopped talking and looked at him. "What?" He asked.

"What article are you looking at?" Lin asked.

"The one from the Broadway critic... He came in and saw a show the other night. Before Pippa got sick. He boosted us so much that this 'scandal' is literally nothing to worry about. And even if it was something to worry about, shouldn't it be whether or not people are going to get seats? From this right here, we're sold out up until the day we hit Broadway." He said while turning around his laptop. "Then on this one, our Broadway shows are even sold out for a very long time too." He said while clicking on another site.

"Wow." I mumbled. Jasmine nodded and wiped her eyes. "It'll be okay..." I whispered.

"So why are we here now?" Groff asked.

"Well..." Lin started. "We could celebrate for finding out that we are completely sold out for a good year or two...?" He smiled. Everyone finally agreed on that but Tommy didn't have it just yet.

"We still need to find out how to fix this first problem..." He sighed. "How do you two want to handle it?" He asked us.

"In all honesty... We weren't sure how just you guys would take it... So.. If we could just keep it a secret outside of us until we're ready to come out to the rest of the world... That would be great..." Jasmine answered. Everyone agreed not to tell, almost like a little pact.

"Alright, now we can celebrate!" Tommy laughed.

Everyone's mood seemed to have shifted from slightly angry to more happy since we weren't going to worry if show sales were going to drop. Renee was asking us a million questions as to how we knew we liked each other and gushed over the amount of affection we showed each other when we could.

"So now that everyone knows are you two going to be okay with loving each other here?" She asked.

"I don't know. We're not going to have a full blown make out session in front of anyone." I answered. "I really don't like when people do that in public... A kiss or two that's fine, but full on tongue battling on the sidewalk or train is just..." I shuttered at the thought, getting a laugh out of Renee and Jasmine.

~~~
Jasmine and I had a rather awkward train ride to her place since she insisted I stay with her while I was sick. Some people had stared at us which wasn't uncommon. Jasmine had been on tv and movies while I had made my way around the theatre. But it was an unruly kind of staring... Like they knew something we didn't about us... I shifted uncomfortably closer to Jasmine and kept my head down. I didn't need to have any confrontations today...
When we got to her place I flopped on the couch and curled up under the blanket she kept there.
"Are you still feeling terrible?" She asked while putting a pillow near my head. I nodded and felt her kiss my head. "Just rest tonight. No spontaneous singing tonight. I promise." She smirked. I laughed at her 'promise' she always sang at night when the feeling hit her. It was one of the many things I loved about her. I really did love her.
