Pippa's POV
"Come on kids! We don't want to be late to grandma and grandpa's house!" Jasmine called out while putting her earrings in. She walked next to me in the kitchen and pecked my lips while we waited on the little ones.
"I'm coming mommy!" We heard Diana call.
"Did you get Micheal dressed already?" I asked her.
"I did. All he needs are shoes and his jacket." She smiled. I nodded and looked up and saw our black and white tuxedo cat jump up on the table.
"You know you're not allowed on the table Mittens. Off." I said while pushing him off the table. He let out a little meow and sat on the chair instead. "Why did she have to pick a cat?" I groaned.
"She loves Mittens and takes care of him. Plus it keeps her quiet." Jasmine laughed. I groaned even louder, which caught the attention of our little one who was wobbling out of his room, clutching onto his T-Rex toy.
"Hey, you can't bring toys to their house! They have toys already for you." I laughed while taking the dinosaur from him. I chucked it back into his room and shut the door so that way Mittens wouldn't make a mess of it again. "Let's get shoes on." I smiled.
"Shoes!" He giggled. I laughed at his enthusiasm and admired his cute little face. He was so chubby in the face, so full of life and energy. Thank goodness his hair was tamable too. I felt bad for Jasmine who had to deal with Di's hair, but she said she had it under control. I sat him on the couch while I put his shoes on, Diana came running out with her hair in a frayed mess.
"Mommy, it came undone again." She frowned.
"Were you playing with it?" Jasmine asked. She nodded slowly, but looked away from her. "This is the last time I'm putting your hair up like this. It's getting ridiculous that you keep playing with it."
"But it looks so pretty! I can't help it!" Diana giggled while Jasmine proceeded to brush through her hair.
"I know it's pretty, but you have to understand, that it's not going to keep itself together if you keep playing with it." She sighed. "Hand me your hair tie."
I shook my head, laughing at their conversation. Micheal was laughing, but I doubted he knew why. Unless it was something else that he was laughing at. I loved both of my kids to pieces. Both of them were great. I could never ask for anything more in my life. I had everything I could ever want, two amazing kids, and a lovely wife who loved me for everything I was and that was all I needed.
"Alright, Diana and I are ready. You and Micheal ready yet?" Jasmine asked while walking over to us.
"Almost." I said while tying his last shoe lace. "There. He's all ready for Easter breakfast." I smiled at her.
"Perfect." She said while lifting him up from the couch. "You're my little handsome man aren't you!" She cooed.
"Mommy!" He giggled.
"Alright, we are officially late for Easter breakfast, so let's move quickly." I frowned when I took a glance at my phone. Diana made a dash for the door without her coat, so I grabbed it on my way out, locking the door behind me.
"Mama I forgot my coat." Di frowned. I handed her the coat I grabbed and we were off.
~~
Everything was practically barely started when we arrived, Jasmine's family already chatting and having a great time.
"Sorry we're late!" Jasmine called out when we arrived.
"We were afraid you weren't going to make it!" Her father laughed. "But thank you both for coming." He smiled while hugging her.
"We wouldn't miss it for the world." I said when he hugged me. "And we brought two things that'll make up for us being late." I smirked.
"Is it my lovely grandchildren?" He laughed.
"Why of course!" Jasmine smiled while handing over Micheal. Her father took him in his arms and had the biggest smile on his face.
"Both of you come on! Grandpa has surprises for you." He smiled while looking at both of them. "Your mom is inside already serving food. Better go say hello before it's all gone." He winked. We laughed at his remark, and made our way inside. So many people stopping and giving us hugs, telling us about their families, and just everything. Her mother even stopped what she was doing just to hug us.
"You did bring the kids right?" She asked.
"Yeah, but dad took them before we could bring them to you." Jasmine answered.
"That's okay. They'll find me soon enough." She winked.
"Thank you grandma!" We heard our kids yell. Both of them came running into the kitchen, and tackled her in a hug.
"You're welcome little angels." She smiled.
"Grandma and Grandpa got me chemistry set!" Di beamed.
"I got dinosaurs!" Micheal giggled.
"You guys really didn't have to get them anything." I frowned.
"Really, they don't need more toys." Jasmine laughed.
"We want to spoil them. Besides, let them have a little fun. They need to grow up with it right?" Jasmine's father smiled. I was on board with fun, but I didn't really like them getting toys all the time. At least Diana's was educational, and Micheal's would keep him out of Diana's room for a while... I couldn't really argue with them either...
"Right.." I laughed.
"No more gifts all the time! You see them every week." Jasmine pointed. "If anything Pippa's parents should be the ones buying their grandkids' love. They see them only on holidays." She frowned.
"My parents bought them firecrackers last new year... You really might want to rephrase that..." I whispered, reminding her of the little mishap we had with them. Jasmine's eyes widened a bit, but she still standing her ground about the gifts.
"Your parents did what?" Her mother gasped, a faint smile on her lips.
"It was Chinese New Year and we had a little party on the block... Someone might have gone into town to buy the fireworks... And we may or may not have lit a tree on fire on accident..." I laughed.
"Oh goodness... Everyone was safe right?" Her father asked.
"Totally! The kids were far away but it was us adults who were... Well childish." I said nervously.
"Well at least everyone is safe." They smiled.
Breakfast went great, the kids played with their toys, and hunted for eggs with their friends. I really couldn't ask for anything more in life. Everything was perfect.
"I'm glad we did this." Jasmine whispered while wrapping her arms around my neck.
"I'm glad too. Everyone seems happy." I smiled while placing my hands on her hips. She nodded and pressed her lips on mine. "What was that for?" I asked her.
"Don't question it." She smiled. "I love you so much."
"I love you so much too." I kissed her again, remembering everything that we had gone through just to get to this point of our lives. From first day of rehearsals to everything else. Our break ups, our everything just to get here. Yes there were lots of heartache and a lot of confusing feelings, but I was happy to be here. No more hiding anything from each other or anyone anymore.
