Pippa's POV
Of course we passed our home inspections again, this time doubling up with Diana already being here and approving the apartment again for a little baby. We were going to have to wait a few months since we decided to actually have a tiny child. You know, the ones that cry and scream. Jasmine decided that it would probably be best to find a bigger place, suggesting houses.
"I'm just saying that if we find a house now, we'll be able to raise the two kids." Jasmine sighed.
"And where are we going to find a house in New York? We would have to literally move out of the city for that." I groaned.
"And what is so bad about that? Maybe living away from the city is what we need. Aren't you growing tired of it?" She frowned. I shook my head, I wasn't tired of it. "How are you not tired of it?!" She yelled.
"I've lived in a small town all of my life up until the day I came to New York! I'm sorry that I didn't grow up around all of this!" I snapped.
"Momma?" Both Of is looked down to see Diana standing in the hall. I frowned and looked at Jasmine.
"Everything is alright." Jasmine whispered while walking over towards her. I watched Jasmine lift her up and carry her away from the kitchen. I felt terrible for the whole thing, but what could I do? I didn't want to move but I knew we were going to have to... Things were getting cramped now as is. Especially when Diana kept asking for a pet...
Eventually Jasmine came back and sat on the couch in the living room. She didn't even bother to look over at me. I slid my body off the stool and headed over towards her.
"Don't you even attempt to apologize." She mumbled without looking at me. I slid down the couch and rested my head near her lap. My legs draped over the side of the couch due to my height. I looked up at her while she looked away from me.
"I didn't mean to snap." I whispered. "I'm sorry." I frowned.
"I know.. I'm sorry too." She sighed. Still not looking at me. I held her hand, waiting for her to glance down at me but she still hadn't.
"We can look for houses..." I added.
"I don't want to kill your joy of living in the city." She said with a hint of annoyance in her voice. I frowned, knowing that she was still mad, but I was going to have to suck it up.
"Can't get what I want all the time now can I? Besides... It won't be like we're moving completely out of the city..." I shrugged. "We could move closer to your parents...?" I suggested. I saw her eyes move towards me, but went right back to looking away.
"That would be nice." She finally admitted.
"I know." I smiled while sitting up. "I'm sorry again." I frowned while wrapping my arms around her.
"Pippa. I know you're sorry." She let out a little laugh and looked at me. "I'm sorry too. Things have been quite rushed lately, I just want to make sure we're ready for it all." She sighed. I agreed fully with her on that. We had gone through everything so quickly we barely had time to sit and breathe now. Diana was busy flying through her classes in school that we enrolled her into private school for the next school year so she could have a better suited education, and we were going to have a baby in the next few months. A baby for crying out loud! Pun intended of course.
"Mommy! Mommy!" Diana yelled while running into the living room. Her hands were clutching onto an open book when she stood in front of us.
"What? What?" Jasmine laughed.
"Aliens!!" She said while pointing at the open book. I raised an eyebrow at her and she groaned. I swear she was more like Jasmine everyday. The little sass here and there. It was cute. She forced herself in between Jas and I and pointed at the pages in her book. "The aliens! Are they real?" She asked us. The page had some drawings of aliens, but it was a kids book. The kids made friends with the aliens and shared cookies or something. It was her favorite book of the month.
"Of course they're real." I scoffed.
"No they aren't." Jasmine glared.
"Explain the pyramids then." I smirked.
"We both know that is just a myth." She laughed. "Di, there is no such thing as aliens." Jasmine said quietly. Diana frowned and looked up at me from her seat.
"Momma?" She frowned.
"Don't worry. They're real." I winked. She smiled at me then jumped off the couch. I watched her run back into her room and I smiled to myself. I loved it when she would believe me over Jasmine sometimes.
"Why do you do that?" She asked me.
"Because I know the answer she wants to hear. Maybe she'll be an astronaut. We don't know." I shrugged. Jasmine looked like she was going to refute me, but accepted what I said with a shrug. It was true. Our daughter showed so much interest in space that I thought she would be an astronaut. I would be very proud if she did.
"Do you think she'll like her new school? Her new everything?" Jasmine whispered.
"I think so. She'll have more friends, more challenges in the classroom... And to top it off a new sibling." I answered her. "Speaking of, do we know the gender yet...?" I frowned.
"We don't... The agency hasn't called back yet, but I hope we find out soon." She frowned.
"Me too. I want to know what to buy ahead of time..." I sighed. Jasmine leaned over into me and rested her head on my chest.
"I can't wait to have that little baby." She smiled.
"We're going to need to sleep a lot before it shows up. It's going to take away all of our sleeping time." I laughed.
