Pippa's POV

Our lovely vacation was exactly what I needed. I felt so relaxed by the time we had gotten back. What made it better was that we didn't have to jump right back into rehearsals or shows the minute we got back either. The only thing we had was the adoption process to blow through now.

"Now this process is going to be long and demanding. We have to pair you with a child that would be a best fit for you guys." Our agent said while going through our paperwork. "Sorry, girls." He laughed. Jasmine smiled at me while grabbing my hand. I rubbed her hand with my thumb, trying to calm her down since we could easily be told that we couldn't have a kid... It was terrifying.... "Now there is going to be a home check prior to the child being picked out... I'm just going to go through some of the requirements that they're going to look for alright?" He asked.

"Yes." I answered.

"Will the child have a place to sleep?" He asked.

"Yes." Jasmine answered. We didn't remodel the apartment for nothing. The little room we had been using as storage was cleaned out and sorted through. We also realized that it was bigger than we thought and turned it into a little room.

"In their own room?" He asked while checking the question off.

"Of course." I smiled.

"Perfect. Now, you two are both entertainers... Actors, performers, however you want to put it correct?" He asked.

"Yes..." Both of us mumbled.

"Will you have time for the child?" He asked.

"Of course. Both of us are taking a break so we can do this." Jasmine answered. We continued to talk about the different things that could allow us to have the kid or really mess up our chances. I couldn't let anything ruin this. We were trying to hard for this just for someone to say we couldn't have a kid in our family just because we had a crack in the wall or little dust bunnies under the couch.

"Well, I see nothing wrong with this so far." Our agent said while placing the little questionnaire aside. "You two seem like very wonderful people who really just want a child. I'll put in for your adoption to hopefully run smoothly. You'll be in contact with me within the next few days after we find the perfect kid." He smiled. I couldn't have been more happier. We passed his verbal testing. Now we just had to pass the home visits and get our kid.

~~~
There we were. Three days later. Waiting on one of the workers to bring our new child to us. My knee was bouncing rapidly. I was terrified, nervous, excited, everything. I couldn't wait to meet this kid.
"Pippa, I know you're nervous but you need to stop... It's annoying me now..." Jasmine whispered. I stopped bouncing my knee and frowned. "I'm sorry. I want to meet them too." She sighed.
"I'm sorry. I just hate waiting.." I groaned. She laughed a little at my impatience, causing me to smile. How could I not smile when she was laughing. Her laugh brought me so much joy. We heard the door click open, which caused us both to turn our heads over to see who walked in.
"Sorry about the wait. She was packing up her things. She was so excited about this." The case worker smiled at us while holding hands with a little girl. "Jasmine, Phillipa, this is Diana." She smiled. The little girl had the biggest smile on her face and gave us a little wave.
"Well hello Diana." Jasmine smiled.
"I'll give you guys some time to talk while I gather the paperwork." The case worker said while walking out of the room.
The little girl had tan skin, just like Jasmine's. Her hair was wildly curly too. I assumed she had to be biracial. Her eyes were dark brown, but they were filled with so much happiness.
"You guys are going to adopt me?" She asked while sitting in between us both.
"Well we hope so." I smiled. Diana gasped and covered her mouth. "You have to approve of us though." I winked.
"I do! I really do!" She giggled.
"How old are you Diana?" Jasmine asked.
"I'm five. I'm in kindergarten and we're learning how to count to a hundred. But I already know how." She grinned. "I got to count everyday here! The older kids taught me my ABC's before I got to school!" She boasted.
"Wow! So smart!" I smiled. We continued to talk, mainly about how she was doing in school and how many friends she had. The case worker came back with the adoption papers, which we gladly signed.
"Alright Diana. From here on out, your full name is Diana Beatrice Cephas Jones." The case worker smiled.
"What does that mean?" She asked.
"That means you now have two mothers. You get to go home with them." The case worker grinned. Diana jumped up and threw herself at Jasmine. I smiled at the sight in front of me, then got myself in that little group hug.
When we got home Diana ran around the house looking at everything we had. Jasmine caught my waist and kissed my lips quickly since we knew Diana was going to be firing off a million questions.
"Why do you guys have so many thingies!" She yelled while pointing at our Grammys and various things we placed on the shelf
"Inside voices Diana." I whispered.
"Those are awards." Jasmine said while lifting her up. "The others are pictures." She explained while pointing.
"Oh." Diana sighed. "Who are the people?" She asked.
"Well, those people used to be our cast mates when we performed with Hamilton." Jasmine said while pointing at one picture. "That is Pippa's cast mates from when she did Amelie." She smiled.
"You guys were in Hamilton?!" Diana gasped. I laughed loudly while sitting myself on the couch. I begun texting Renee and ended up sending a video of Diana and Jasmine to her. Which led to a FaceTime call.
"YOU GUYS ADOPTED A CHILD?!" She yelled when I answered.
"Of course!! Isn't she cute?!" I smiled.
"Hi Renee!" Jasmine said while walking into view. "Say hi to your auntie Renee." She said to Diana.
"Hi!!" She waved.
"She's so cute!! I'll be over in fifteen with my kids." She laughed.
