Amidst the Ruins, There are Beginnings

The PSJ Insurance Company is on chaos! Employees are spreading gossips about their lifting. Clients are starting to withdraw the policies they bought. Julie, the current President of the said company is pressured about the impending fall of the insurance corporation she has protected for 6 years. Though some of its investors remained faithful to her, it wasn’t enough to return everything in its place.

“Ma’am, I think we should already sell half of your shares. This is the only way to keep this company running.” A shareholder advised.

“Indeed Ma’am you own 70% of the shares of this company but you yourself alone cannot sustain this company for a long time. We understand your sentiments why you accepted Ma’am Ludovice’s offer to succeed her as President despite of your financial insufficiency but if you insist of not selling your shares, all of us will be ruined.” Another shareholder seconded.

“I am sorry gentlemen, but my answer is No. Our late Madam Ludovice entrusted this share to me. Besides, my share is not the reason why our company is in a very shaky position right now. This phenomenon is only natural because the International Market is on recession.” Julie opposed.

“Yes, we know that fact but we are also at our lowest profit margin, people had lessen their trust towards insurance companies after the fall of the insurance giants in the states, which also happens to be the companies which we owe a great debt!” One of the shareholders butted in.

“No… th-there is still another way. I’ll get our company out of this mess.” Julie insisted.

Then suddenly the oldest shareholder stood up and exclaimed; “Ever since our late Madame Ludovice has passed her shares to you, Ms. San Jose, our company was not able to surpass its expected marginal profit. All this company has stood from that very day is to sell insurance policies to SURVIVE, not to gain profit anymore. I am tired of hearing the same things from you Ms. San Jose, if by next week half of your shares are not sold to another investor, I will sell my own share in its cheapest price. I don’t want to be part of this firm anymore.”

“So do I!” a Shareholder exclaimed.

“And so do we…” the remaining 2 Shareholders added.

“Please, don’t do this! There is still another way.” Julie begged.

But despite her pleas, the 4 shareholders stood up and walked out of the meeting.

Julie’s POV

Shoot! What am I going to do? I couldn’t let those 4 sell their shares in this company! They have been the pioneer holders ever since this company was established. Besides our company will be in its lowest peak if their shares will be sold at the cheapest price! Those prideful geezers Argh! What am I gonna do? Madam Ludovice I am so sorry I failed you… God please help me.

In a Courtroom

“Wherefore, considering the aforementioned facts and evidences presented by both sides, Mr. Elmo Magalona is not guilty for the crime of Estafa through deceit. So ordered.” The court held.

“Hmm… In just two months I was able to bag 56 million and avoid conviction without sweat.” Elmo Thought.

“Woosh! That was easy! It seems like I saved your hide again Moe!” Atty. Jean Olivar laughed.

“Sheesh… I am innocent in the first place.” Elmo cracked.

“You’re a good swindler but a bad liar Moe!” Jean said “Seriously man, how much loot did you get? 10? 20?” he added.
