A Wrong Start
“Good Morning Julie! Good Morning Julie! Good Morning Julie!” The recorded alarm clock repeatedly rang.
“Oh no! What time is it? It’s 9 o’clock in the morning?! No! I am late!” Julie panicked “Huh? Did I just sleep in the sofa last night? God I was so exhausted.”
Julie realized that she fell asleep after she became emotional when she saw Elmo’s sketch of her. She felt so glad that even though he is nonchalant about his emotions, he really knows how to calm a woman’s troubled mind.
“Hang on? Exodus said he is a psychology student before! Gasp! Oh my, maybe he is hypnotizing me with his charms!” Julie told herself and giggled at the thought “Well if he is really doing it to me… I won’t even resist it.” Julie laughed so hard.
After she has fixed herself, Julie prepared herself to proceed in the meeting with SeaFrance. However, just as she opened the door of her house she was utterly surprised.
“Moe? Why are you here?”
“Oh shocks just as I thought you forgot. I told you yesterday that I’ll be dropping by at 7 in the morning to fetch you.”
“7 o’ clock? You mean you’ve been standing there for two hours?”
“Yup… and even heard your alarm clock rang like hell just to wake you up. But it’s fine, I entertained myself by observing you here in your window as you talk and laugh to yourself. Julie you really need a shrink.” Elmo wisecracked.
“You saw everything?!”
“Well of course, I even thought you were aware of it since you didn’t close the window. Don’t worry I didn’t hear you say that you are suspecting me of hypnotizing you.”
Julie blushed.
Elmo laughed. “Your expression is epic Julie! I am just lighting things up for you. I just don’t want to see you cry like yesterday gain.”
“Thanks Moe… and thanks for the sketches… it was really beautiful.”
“Nah! A picture can never capture the real beauty of its model. What I just draw was a glimpse of your actual beauty.” Elmo smiled.
Julie was speechless. Her mind was blank after Elmo has said those wonderful words to her. Julie was so happy that it came personally to him.
“I didn’t know that you look like a tomato when you blush.” Elmo seconded his serious words with a joke.
“You’re mean Moe! Get in the car young man! We still have a business to tackle.”
“Wow! All fired up already? That’s the spirit! After you Mademoiselle.”
Julie’s POV
It’s really nice to see Moe smile and joke like there is nothing to worry about. Is this a glimpse of who Moe really is? The happy and joyful one? Moe if you would just allow me to be part of your life, I promise that you will always wear that smile in your face. Little by little the world is showing me your history and here I am grabbing every piece just to see the complete picture of you. Moe I hope that you never forget the night that we had; the same way as how I’ve always thought about it every night.
Elmo’s POV
Damn I am so happy and relieved! I don’t know why… but I am sure it was because I was able to remove from Julie’s face the remorse from yesterday. If I haven’t been affected by my pasts maybe with Julie’s company and care I would be very happy and contented. If Julie is the real person for me, then how about Louise? What was her participation in my life before? Stupid past! You are always blocking my way forward! Julie has been true and kind to me; unlike other people she seems not to be wearing any pretension. Am I becoming to trust her by and by? But all that I am certain is… I feel a strong emotion for her, it’s that I am not if I have to act upon it or not. Shoot! My head is starting to feel numb again…
