Working Underneath

Elmo’s POV

So it is true that there are other people who wanted Exodus down. How could he be so nonchalant about it to Mavy? Is there something that triggers him not to tell her if so what is it? Is there really a previous threat against his life or is he just bluffing before and this incident is a mere coincidence? Because if Exodus has a threat in his life, why didn’t he brought his gun?

“Honey it’s already late you’re still awake?” Julie told Elmo.

“Sorry Hon.”

Julie turned to Elmo and nestled her head on his chest.

“Penny for your thoughts?”

“Hon? Can I ask you something about your brother?” Elmo started.

“Sure what is it?”

“Do you remember any incident in his life where you could say, put his safety in jeopardy? You know threats or competitions of some sort?”

“No.”

“How about Cherry?”

“No. My mom never had ‘real’ enemies ever since she founded PSJ.”

“Are you sure?”

“Of course, why?”

“Oh I see.” Elmo reacted. Oh yes I forgot Julie doesn’t know the history yet. Maybe it’s time to tell her. “Julie there’s something I want you to know.” He added.

“Why? What is it? Moe you are making me nervous.” Julie felt a sudden discomfort.

“Oh sorry Honey, this is just something I learned before when you still had a conflict with Exodus. Cherry wasn’t the founder of PSJ but your real Mom, Anna Marie. Cherry and Marie and Bianca were best of friends during their college years. But after your Mom has left you, she entrusted the company to Cherry.” Elmo stated “This is the reason why I am asking you if Cherry and Exodus made some enemies during those times because it even involved Dr. Shiller, one of the pioneers.”

“Moe, how did you know this?” Julie was surprised.

“Actually it was Jean who gave me the initial info about Exodus and I just made some investigation about it. I am just worried about telling it to you since the dispute between you two was already settled. I am just looking for good opportunity to tell you this but I wasn’t expecting telling you this way.” Elmo apologized.

“I see… Moe can you please tell me everything that you’ve learned about me?”

“Actually it’s not that complete but may be substantial…”

Elmo told Julie everything he learned about Exodus, Cherry, and Anna Marie. He even included the meaning of PSJ’s name. Julie was full of mixed expressions as she listened to every word that Elmo utters.

“Wow so that’s what PSJ means (soft giggles). Thanks Hon… now at least I have a bigger picture of my past… thank you.” Julie kissed Him.

“Don’t worry Julie if I learn more about your family I’ll immediately share it to you.” Elmo assured.

“Thanks… but Moe how about your family?” Julie worriedly asked.

“That will come; my case is a hard one Honey…”

“I see. Don’t bother yourself too much though.” Julie embraced Elmo.

“Yeah… sorry about that.”
