Chapter 15

Shine Me a Little Light

It was almost midnight and the whole town was silent. Luckily, Julie and Elmo were still able to hitch a bus going to the city. Julie, due to her tiredness, fell fast asleep. Elmo pulled her head closer to his shoulders so that Julie can lean on him.

Elmo’s POV

Funny! Julie really traveled this far just to look for me. Julie haven’t you seen what I almost did to your brother? Why aren’t you afraid of me? Why do you still trust me? (Touches Julie’s face) God why did you let me meet Julie just now? Why didn’t you let me meet her 6 years ago? My life wouldn’t be this miserable if Julie was the one whom I loved first instead of Louise. But, still I thank you letting me be part of Julie’s life. Honestly, I feel the light in her whenever she is with me.

Julie woke up. “Are we there yet?” Julie rubbed her eyes.

“Nope. I’ll just wake you up if we do.” Elmo embraced Julie with his left arm.

“Thanks Moe, I feel comfortable.”

Elmo smiled.

Elmo and Julie arrived at Legazpi an hour past midnight and checked in at the hotel.

“Ahh! So comfy!” Julie thanked herself “Isn’t this a quiet province Moe?” She added.

“Not that I heard of.” Elmo answered “But the place where we met, that is really a peaceful place… very solemn.”

“Yah! Ahmm… Moe, a while ago, were you planning to stay in the cemetery for the night? It was just odd to see someone in a cemetery late at night. Were you able to find your family’s epitaph?”

“Yes and yes. It seems that they were just moved in recently. As to whom did it, that I couldn’t answer.” Elmo said in a serious note.

“I see.”

Then Julie saw Elmo removing his shirt and dumped it in the laundry.

“Moe… I am not ready yet.” Julie Blushed.

“Huh?! What are you talking about?” Elmo puzzled.

“You took off your shirt, I thought…”

(Laughs hard) “I took it off because it was wet and sweaty. Not to mention you drooled all over my shoulder a while ago.” Moe wisecracked.

“Hey! I didn’t!” Julie felt embarrassed and threw a pillow.

“Watch it!”

Elmo caught the pillow and tackled Julie with it. The two had a pillow fight and Julie was winning. Elmo fell from the bed and Julie laughed hard.

“Serves you right!” Julie laughed.

Due to his excitement and Joy, Elmo stood up took another pillow and jumped over Julie.

“Hey! (Laughs) what are you doing?” Julie playfully asked.

“You think you’ve already won Atty. San Jose? Take this!” Elmo excitedly said as he took Julie’s arms so that she could throw another pillow to him.

“Moe!… (Giggles) Stop! It tickles me!” Julie screamed.

“So that’s your weakness!” Elmo said devilishly.

He continued to tickle Julie playfully. The two look like little kids playing on the bed while laughing their hearts out.

Julie lied down for she couldn’t bear his tickles anymore. Elmo on the other hand unconsciously settled himself almost atop of Julie.
