Chapter 34

Luke

I walked through the slim halls, making my lonesome way to my next class.
Unfortunately calum had to run to a soccer meeting and I was left on my own. I shouldn't mind, but I missed him.

But then again, I need the time alone. I'm sure me and calum hang out way too much. It's a miracle that we haven't driven eachother crazy.

But that was the weird thing, it always felt new with him. I never feel bored or unsatisfied.

My thoughts were seized as soon as I felt my hand being tugged, and myself being pulled into a dark room.
"Calum?" I squeaked, feeling my chest tighten in fear.

"Don't talk" I heard a familiar voice say. My eyes fell.

"Ash-" I cleared my throat, "Ashton, I mean."

"Don't be that way" he whispered and brought his hand to my cheek.

I pulled away and clenched my jaw, "what way?"

"I miss you, Luke. There hasn't been a day that I haven't missed you." I bit my lip and shook my head.

"I find that hard to believe"

He pushed me back, slamming his hand to the wall, "you know I had nothing to do with the way Michael treated you"

I scoffed, "that's hilarious, because I'm very sure you have everything to do with it. We had everything to do with it." I looked down, "you abandoned me. You watched him do those things to me, you did those things."

"I've made mistakes, Luke. But you can't tell me you haven't either-"

"I would never do this to you!" I snapped while furiously wiping away a tear. "I loved you" I could hear my voice cracking. He grabbed my cheeks and pulled me closer to him.

"It could still be that way" he said softly and I shook my head.

"No."

"No?" He questioned, his hands fell to my hips.

"You don't get it, Ashton." I gulped, feeling his grip tighten,"I loved you, but you forced me to get over that," I felt another tear fall, "and now ive found someone that loves me, and I love him. He protects me" it tightened more, "he doesn't run away" I whimpered, feeling his fingers dig into my skin, "Ashton." I said but he didn't move, "Ashton, stop." I spoke again, "I said stop!" I pushed him off and he looked up at me.

"I'm sorry" he said before opening the door and running off. All I could do was stare at the dark wall and replay what had just happened. Even if I didn't want to, I couldn't stop thinking about that stupid boy.

I needed to go. I couldn't bare to stay around any longer.

I got up and immediately made my way to the exit doors, forgetting about everyone and everything back there. Only thinking about the large bottle of vodka that I was waiting to go home to.

I searched the classroom, scratching the back of my neck, uncomfortably.
Luke had just .. disappeared.
I texted him many times but he still has yet to answer, I couldn't help but worry.

I know Michael and Ashton wouldn't.. do anything .
No . I really don't know if they would.

I groaned and stood up, leaving the music room and decided to go find either Ashton or Michael .
As much as I didn't want to talk to them, it was for Luke.

After 5 more minutes I walked into the bathroom, running my hands through my hair. I could hear sniffling, then someone clearing their throat, before the stall door swung open.

My eyes were wide as I looked at Ashton, his hair was everywhere, his eyes were puffy and his nose was red.

"Ashton... are you okay?" I asked, feeling a bit awkward. He looked down and gripped the sink.

"Yeah." He breathed, nodding to himself, "yeah I am."

I walked over to the sink beside him, starting to wash my hands, "have you.. by any chance seen Luke at all?"

He looked at me with, laughed, and shook his head, "can't keep up with him huh?"

"What?" My eyebrows furrowed.

"Might needa put a leash on that one, he likes to wonder off, I mean in case you don't already know that." He spoke bitterly.

"Fuck you." I said, but was immediately pressed into the wall, his hands gripping my shirt tightly.

"No calum, fuck you!" His voice broke and more tears welled up. I looked at him in shock and he let me go, "fuck you." He whispered again and stormed out.
