Back In Those Days

Draco kept his eyes on the ocelot, he still didn't now who she was, but she had explained why she ran. He was Draco Malfoy, and better yet, he was with Blaise Zabini, both ex-death eaters. It made sense. Though, her eyes said she was lying, he didn't get a chance to respond when a stinging pain in his head struck. Hermione voice, he could hear it.

"Come home to me." It was so soft, and cracked as though she'd been crying. But, she was in the future, and in this time line, Hermione didn't need him, she was with Potter and Weaselette.. . . . . . .

But that's not how it happened. He wasn't back in time. If he was, Hermione wouldn't be avoiding him, it was like a different version of what happened in the normal timeline. . . .

An alternate universe.

He could go back right?

Draco remembered he was with someone and made his head go back to thinking about what was important in the here and now.

"Who are you by the way? Im pretty sure you already know who I am." Draco said, he kept his voice calm, apparently she was already scared enough of him to run away from him. He didn't want to make it any worse.

"Oh, well, hmm. Sure." She said, her voice was familiar. Oh, it was Makayla. He pretended as though he didn't know her, he wasn't going to tell her about the time travel thing. Wait, he alternate world thing. He kept forgetting.

"Nice to meet you . . . . "

"Makayla Scamander." She introduced herself. Draco turned back into a human and shook her hand.

"Scamander? As in, the guy that wrote Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them? That was a school book I had in first year." Draco said. If he remembered correctly, the guy's name was Newt.

"Yeah, I'm related to him." Makayla said. Huh, he learned something new all the time-there was a piercing scream ahead. Draco knew her voice. That was Pansy. He turned into a Lynx and bolted towards where the sound came from.

~~~
"Who are you anyway?" Blaise asked as he tried to heal Pansy up more, but the dagger, was laced with something. Death eaters always laced their weapons. They were smart.
"Jack Riley." Jack said simply, he wanted to keep his attention on Pansy right now, and he wasn't wanting to make small talk. "Transfigure some leaves into rags, and get some water." Jack ordered. He knew how to heal a bit, as he ha to do that as a death eater. They were all hatful to each other, but they kept each other alive.
"Jack! Is she ok?" Draco asked as he ran up, still in Lynx form. Blaise wouldn't understand what he was saying, as he wasn't a Animagus, but Jack could understand him in human form. Jack waited for Blaise to go get the water to respond.
"Death eater, he's already gone, so don't go after him. I knew this would happen. I should have told her this would happen if she ran. I was just too scared to tell her Im a death eater. He threw a dagger at her, it was laced, not with poison, but with something that doesn't let the wound close up, which is almost worse than poison as it is." Jack explained. Draco turned into a human, an ocelot approached from behind him and turned into a human. Makayla?
"Can I help?" She asked. Her voice was allot softer than he imagined it. He had taken her to Draco's apartment. He don't know her at all, but he was the one that had hurt her in the attack on the train, and he felt bad. He knew Hermione could help. She knew everything. And Maya.
"Yeah, get some good wood, it's getting dark, we need to keep her warm or. . . . she might not wake up." Jack said. Makayla nodded and stood up, turning into a ocelot and running up a tall tree with her claws to get good branches.
"She's fine. This isn't back in time. We're in a alternate universe. I realized it earlier." Draco explained the very second Makayla was out of hearing range.
"Well, I don't want the Pansy in this world to die. And I don't want to go back to the other world anyway." Jack said in a rush, he was still working with Pansy, he hadn't even looed up at Draco since he arrived. He rolled her over to lie on her back. He lifted her head, her face cupped in one hand. She still had a pulse, but wasn't awake.
"You like her don't you?" Draco asked, Jack shook his head on instinct. He had always denied liking anyone.
"No, of course not. She's with the Italian anyway. And she's really mean. Then all she does is argue with me, and get mad at me. But then she smiles, and it's like she doesn't hate-" Jack stopped, realizing he had stopped saying why he didn't like her and had started saying why he did like her.
"Then why don't you want to go back to the normal world?" Draco urged forward with a grin. Jack furrowed his brows, he didn't know. He surely didn't want to stay for Pansy. There was a Pansy in the other world too. She probably hated him there though. For hurting Makayla.
"I don't know." Jack responded after a while, he didn't take his eyes off Pansy, but, he did put her head down, just so Draco wouldn't ask any more questions, and so Blaise wouldn't ask any when he came back.
Blaise and Makayla returned, with water and branches. Draco helped Makayla find a little cave to stay in, and they built the fire right outside the cave. It was sort of like the Slytherin common rooms in the cave, dark and cold.
The fire made it a little warmer, which was helpful. Pansy needed to stay warm. She hadn't even moved, the only proof there was to at she was still even alive was the steady rise and fall of her chest. While he didn't want to, Draco made Jack go to sleep.
~~~

Hermione put Justin in the bed, his eyes were closed and he was adorable. His brown hair was laying perfect straight on his small head. Hermione couldn't help but to stare at him for a little while. He was one of the only things left she had of her parents.

George ran in, a look of urgency on his face.

"Fred's back, Makayla's unconscious." George said in a rush. Hermione followed him to the living room where Makayla was knocked out on the couch. Fred knelt by the couch and tried to make her more comfortable.

"What happened?" Hermione asked. Maya was in the kitchen making everyone a cup of coffee, it was getting late, and everyone should have been in bed by now. But with everything going on, they couldn't sleep, they needed coffee.

"She feinted, just like Teddy and Pansy did. I don't understand-"

"Draco?" Makayla mumbled in her sleep, interrupting Fred. Everyone sat silently around her for a while, eagerly listening, she only mumbled random words, allot of it none of them could make sense of it. "How can I help?" She had said after a while. Something was wrong? What would they need help with. Hermione wished she could ask what was wrong, and how Draco was, she needed to know if he was ok.

"Go to bed Hermione. We can handle staying up and taking care of everyone." Maya told Hermione, she nodded and listened to Makayla for another moment or two.

"If she says anything about Draco. I want to know." Hermione whispered before she walked up to Justin's bedroom, She crawled into the bed carefully, she didn't want to wake Justin up. She put her hand on his chest, just to feel his heart beat. She closed her eyes and let sleep take over.
