Lafayette sat in his desk, increasingly annoyed as he signed his signature again and again on papers one after the other with words he couldn't care to understand nor read. Just as he was about to leave for home he was dumped all paperwork which honestly could have been saved for the next evening but his secretary had forced him to stay to complete them.

Hours upon hours spent after his official work schedule wasted inside his office when he should've been home with his wife, Margarita de Lafayette, Peggy. Finally, he finished, leaving the office had never felt so satisfying as it did in that one moment.

On his walk home it began to pour, Laf cursed, of course! He ran home and ended up slipped, face planting onto the concrete. He sat up and felt the area under his nose, bleeding, "Ce jour-là ne pouvait pas empirer..." He mumbled to himself as he got up only to be faced by a man with a knife and smut-covered face, "Ce n'était pas un défi." He said to whatever deity was controlling his day.

The man demanded money which Laf of course denied. The man then tried to rush Laf who just skirted the knife and, grabbing his attacker's wrist and slamming his elbow against the area between his wrist and elbow, using his knee as a base, in short; he broke the man's arm. Laf then continued his walk home, getting completely soaked in the process and angry because he had to fight somebody off, something he didn't like doing.

When he opened the door he felt somebody hug him, he instantly identified the woman as his beautiful wife and hugged her tightly, "Whoa! You're soaked!" Peggy cried and backed up and then became more alarmed, "Your nose!"

Laf waved her concern off, "I will be fine, it is not broken. I am going to take a warm bath, get changed, and then we can talk?" He wanted to just cuddle with Peggy after his shit day but he knew he needed to tend to his health first.

"Of-Of course," Peggy said, "I'll get you warm clothes, yeah? You go up and have a bath." Laf nodded, thankful for such a loving wife, and got into the bath.

About an hour later Laf tiredly climbed from the water and dried off, finding the clothes Peggy had put out for him and found she had just cleaned them too so they were extra warm. He really loved how thoughtful she was. After he'd pulled the pajamas on, it was really late now, he went to find Peggy. He located her in the kitchen and hugged her from behind, "Bonjour mon amour." He whispered into her ear.

"Hello my love," Peggy greeted, "How was your day?" She asked, leaning back into his hug as she placed her hands over his. Laf shook his head as he remembered his day causing Peggy to giggle, "Your hair is wet and it's tickling me." She said and Laf chuckled.

"I 'ad a bad day," Laf said, putting his head on her shoulder and sighing, "I was late because a lot of paperwork was dumped on me, then I tripped and hurt my nose as well as being caught in the rain, to top it all off a man tried to rob me but I fought him off." Laf sighed again, holding her tighter.

"Be careful," Peggy said teasingly before continuing in a happier tone, "You wouldn't want to squeeze the baby would you?" Laf hummed in agreement before he realized exactly what she'd said.

"Baby?" He repeated in disbelief. Peggy nodded and he sucked in a breath, "On va avoir un bébé?" He asked, tears pricking his eyes as the thought overcame him of being a father.

"Oui," Peggy replied. Laf began laughing softly as tears pricked his eyes, spinning Peggy in happiness. Peggy began giggling as he did and cupped his cheeks, kissing him softly. Laf returned the kiss and set her back on her feet, "I guess you're happy?" She asked.

"O-Oui! Yes!" Laf kissed her forehead and hugged her tighter though not too tight because now he was afraid of injuring his unborn child, "I have never been this 'appy before!" He said into her hair, his hand on the back of her head, "I love you two." He whispered.

"We love you too, Laf." Peggy replied and hugged him tightly, "And hey-what a way to end a bad day, yeah?" She asked, looking up into Laf's deep brown eyes. Laf smiled and kissed her forehead again, guess bad days really can turn around.
