Trigger Warning: Anxiety

Maria threw her bag down on the floor as she flopped onto the sofa, screaming into the cushion from the stress alone. She was teetering on the edge of failing College Calculus, a class she absolutely needed to continue in her degree. Not to mention she had four commissions on DeviantArt that she kept pushing off and needed to do immediately as well as needing to plan her and Eliza's anniversary dinner.

"Babe?" Speaking of Eliza there she was. Maria looked over at her with bleary eyes and Eliza cooed softly, walking over and crouching next to her, "What's wrong? I can help, I promise." She softly ran a hand over Maria's back.

Maria sighed and closed her eyes softly, "I'm just stressed." She replied and snuggled into the sofa, "It's just too much, Lizzy, it's all too much. There's too much to do and plan and say and I have to do it quickly because there are time limits but we made up time so it doesn't exist but we pretend it does and-"

"-Maria," Eliza interrupted to prevent Maria from going into an anxiety attack, "Sit up, hun." Eliza helped her into a sitting position. Eliza slithered behind her on the couch and pressed her thumbs and palms into her shoulder gently but firmly as she massaged her shoulders, "Feel better?" She asked.

"Mhmm..." Maria replied and closed her eyes, letting her head flop forward with her chin on her chest as she relaxed slowly, "You're too good to me." She mumbled and drifted as she relaxed against her beloved.

"I just wanna help you," Eliza said and kissed the top of Maria's curls, "It's my job to keep you happy and help you when I can. After all, I vowed to be with you through sickness and through health, through the bad times and the good. Because I love you and that's never going to change."

Maria blushed slightly as Eliza repeated their vows and felt a bit guilty as she fell asleep against Eliza's expert hands working the knots built from stress in her shoulders, neck, and back. Eliza didn't mind though and set Maria down to lie down on the sofa and sleep as Eliza hurried off to get her surprise ready.

Eliza grabbed her wooden box and opened it, fishing her rubber strings and plastic beads out, she smiled. She knew Maria enjoyed sentiments and since she felt so stressed out she decided to make her something. Quickly she found her white and red beads and began to thread them onto the rubber string, red was Maria's favorite color so it was her obvious choice to use and the white was to put breaks in the color so it wasn't completely repetitive.

When she finished the bears she tied the bracelet off and put it on her own wrist to make sure it wasn't too big or small as she and Maria were the right size to wear each other's jewelry and clothing. When she was sure Maria's bracelet was the right size she grabbed another rubber string and put the red beads away, pulling the blue ones out. Blue was her favorite color and her goal was to make matching bracelets so she began to thread the blue beads onto the string with the white ones for the same reason as there was white on Maria's, also so their bracelets would match.

When both were finished she looked at the two and hummed, realizing how predictable it would be for her to have the blue one and Maria the red. So, instead, she made sure the blue bracelet was the right side before taking it off and replacing it with the red bracelet on her right hand. She would have Maria's favorite color and Maria would have her favorite color. That way they matched and had something the other liked.

She heard Maria waking up so she grabbed the blue bracelet and went over to her, "Why hello there sleepy head." She said and kissed Maria's forehead, "Feeling any better after that nap?" She asked and sat next to her.

Maria nodded and rubbed her eyes, "A little." Eliza then held the blue bracelet out with her right hand so Maria could see the red one on her wrist. Maria looked from the bracelet to Eliza, "For me?" She asked and then realized that was a stupid question so she quickly followed it up with, "You made these for me?"

Eliza nodded, "I thought you'd like them so...I made them." She told her with a gentle smile. Slowly Maria picked the blue one up and inspected it before putting it on, "At first I thought I'd wear blue and you'd wear red but then I thought; what if I had your favorite color and you had mine? So I wear a part of you because red reminds me of you and you have a part of me because well...I hope I resemble blue in some way."

Maria nodded, "You do." She told her as she ran her hands along the bracelet with a caring glint in her eyes, "I used to associate blue with sadness. Everybody did or does. It's used in TV shows and movies and stuff. But...now whenever I see blue I smile because it's you, it's always you, my gorgeous girl. Blue hasn't been sadness for a long time, it has been the woman who I love and who I married." Maria leaned over and kissed Eliza gently, both women blushing.

"You know what would make this night even better?" Eliza asked and Maria looked at her curiously before Eliza giggled and yelled, "No pants!"

Maria laughed and nodded, "Okay sweetie." Eliza pulled Maria up off of the couch with another giggle and they both rid themselves of their pants before falling onto the floor, missing the couch, and laughing at themselves, hugging each other, "God I love you."

"I love you too," Eliza said and kicked her pants the rest of the way off, cuddling against Maria, "I just really hate pants." She kissed Maria's cheek, "This is so much better without pants."

Maria laughed and nodded, pecking Eliza's lips and holding her close, not being able to imagine a life without her in her arms.
