Peggy took a deep breath, "Just breathe Peggy. Just...breathe." She said quietly and knocked on the door of the Hamiltons house, the house her sister had bought with her husband Alexander years ago where they have begun to raise little Philip as well as their newest addition Angelica who was soon to reach her seventh month.

"Pegs?" Eliza asked as she opened the door and then she split into a smile and hugged her little sister. Peggy hugged back and Eliza went into her usual spiel, "What're you doing here? I mean I appreciate you being here and I'm not doing anything. How are you feeling?"

Peggy shook her head, "I need to talk to you and Alexander," She said and pulled back from Eliza slightly, her fear coming back as she remembered her reason for being here, "It's um...important?"

Eliza nodded, "Okay? Is everything okay?" Peggy looked down and so Eliza ran to get her husband as Peggy stepped in and shut the door, going to the living room and sitting down. Eliza entered with Alexander but left quickly to make tea.

"You alright, Peggy?" Alexander asked, sitting across from her. Peggy played with her skirt and didn't answer, taking the tea when Eliza brought it. Alex looked at Eliza with concern but Eliza just shrugged so Alex turned to Peggy again, "We're all here then Pegs..?"

"Promise..." Peggy closed her eyes to try and calm herself down internally, "Promise you won't get angry or yell."

Eliza and Alexander looked at each other a bit shocked as their concern grew, "We promise," Eliza said and Alex nodded in agreement.

"I-uh..." She dropped her eyes again and looked at the ground once more before she closed her eyes entirely, "I'm uh...I'm with er..." She sighed quietly and looked at them quickly while feeling a bit ashamed, "Thomas Jefferson." She'd been with Thomas for months and hadn't told her sister or brother-in-law yet as she was scared of being rejected seeing as Alexander hated Thomas and she knew Thomas felt the same, "We're engaged." She added, pulling the ring out of the inside of her dress which she had on a necklace until she could get it sized properly.

Alexander was the first to react, "What the fuck?" He sounded angry and before Peggy could remind him of the fact that he promised not to get angry he went off, "He's a dick! An actual dick! He's also a slut and fucks people after people! Plus he's terrible in politics and he's dirty and just-just-no!" He slammed his hands on the coffee table which scared Peggy so much she dropped the teacup, "I won't let it! You have to stop seeing that asshole! He's just using you to get to me!"

Before Eliza could de-escalate the situation Peggy stood up to defend her fiance, "I don't need your approval, Alexander! My father approves and so I don't care what the man who married my sister has to say." She put a hand over her ring, "He loves me and I love him! I didn't come to ask you for permission I came to give you fair warning!"

Quickly she left the residence and stormed down the street with angry tears in her eyes as she thought more and more about what Alex had said. She went to the estate she shared with Thomas and when she saw him she didn't mean to let her frustrations out on him and so she just yelled at him, he yelled back. In the end...she ended up in the lounge crying after Thomas had stormed off. She even brought up his ex-girlfriend that he'd been with when he was in France, she was rather disappointed in herself for even saying he was using her as Alexander has insinuated.

When the door opened again Peggy jumped up, "Thomas!" She ran for him, "H-Hey! I'm so sorry I-what's that?" Her eyes found writing on his wrist though the skin around it was red, a tattoo, and it was her full name but with his last name, Margarita Schuyler Jefferson.

He shrugged, "I love it, I love you, and I'm proud to wear that beautiful name of yours too." He says and then notices that her eyes were tearing up as she knew she didn't deserve him, "Awwwww Pegs," He smiles a softly and wipes the little tears away with his thumb.

"I just-" She sniffed as she cried, "Well-I didn't-and you-because you really love me and I can't-it just-"

"Shhhhhhh," He keeps smiling to try and comfort her as he continues to wipe her tears away, "It's okay. I promise."

She blushes a little bit as she put her hand over the one wiping her tears away as she tried to explain why she felt just to very emotional, "It's just..nobody has before." She admitted. She'd never had a love like Thomas who was there for her and wanted to prove he loved her through anything.

"Well, I will." He kissed her gently to prove his point, Peggy kissed back the best she could as she kept crying from the simple fact that he loved her. He waited a few moments before pulling away, nuzzling her nose with his in an Eskimo kiss, "I love you a lot. I swear to God I always will."

She nods and hugs him as tight as she can, happy when he hugs her back just as tight and she finally spoke up, "I love you...I love you so much."

"I love you too, Peggy." He said and kissed her forehead, "My beautiful Peggy." He added knowing that made her embarrassed, being called his and the compliment.

She giggles quietly and manages to stop crying though her blush has grown. She moves his hand so she can see his wrist and traces her fingers over her name, "You're crazy." She mumbles, reading and rereading the letters.

Thomas smirks slightly, "Am I?" He asked playfully as he tilts his head to the side in a teasing fashion, "How so?"

"A tattoo...of my name," Peggy replied obviously, it was obvious to her at least. A picture with a person's name seemed like such a foreign thing and a risky gamble at the very least.

Thomas shook his head quickly, "I don't think it's crazy...but I feel like I'm in a dream over it." He admitted with a smile as he remembered watching the love of his life's name appear in ink on his skin forever and he couldn't wait for her to become a Jefferson, to make her a Jefferson.

Peggy bit her lip not knowing if she should reveal what she thought but she knew a relationship was built on trust and communication so she opened up, "I-I think it's crazy because what if you regret it?"

"Why would I ever regret it?" Thomas asked seriously, "I don't plan on leaving. I don't want to leave. I don't want you to leave either because if that happens, I have no will to live. I would have terribly regretted getting that French bitch's name on me, which I almost did once, but something stopped me. I don't know what, but something did. Nothing even started to pull me away from getting your name because my future is all with you and I know that it'll be with you forevermore." With the end of his proclamation of love he kissed her and when he felt her kiss back he chuckled.

Peggy kept their faces close to each other, their forehead touching though when Thomas looked into her eyes she dropped her gaze to the floor for probably the millionth time that day, "I just..I dunno I-nobody else has...about me I.."

"I don't know why," Thomas said, "I mean, you're amazing and I've fallen in love with so many things about you. I wish everyone could see the same things I do about you."

"You...I-uh. I love you." She felt more embarrassed than flustered now as she had no more words to talk with it seemed.

He smiles yet again and pecks her lips though he let his lips linger a bit longer, "I love you too." He told her, feeling Peggy's face flush redder as she felt his lips move against hers.

Quietly Peggy looks at the tattoo again, "I-I'd get your name but..I-I'm not-I don't-I don't do well with pain at all. I got a paper cut once and cried for weeks, you can ask Angelica I was a mess, a complete mess."

He chuckles, "That's alright but I didn't think you'd get one to think of me." He admitted, "And I wouldn't want you to go through pain you couldn't handle just for me."

"Well..." She thought about her reply and just smiled u at him, "Well I-I love you." She said and held him close.

"I know...and I love you too. I'm still in shock though, I didn't plan this at all." If anybody knew Thomas they know he planned everything through for years before he did anything, "I don't know why I just am."

She holds his wrist and runs her thumb over the writing again, "I love you..I-I don't have any other words for it." She kisses his forehead as she holds his wrists and they stayed entangled in front of the door for longer than they'd ever admit.
