Restless Night

I heard Logan gasp and I in turn leaped off the bed. My fur bristled from my nightmare with Tony. I turned to Logan who looked just as terrified as I was.

"What's wrong," I asked, trying to pretend that I had just woken up because he did.

"Just a nightmare," he assured with a bit of hoarseness in his voice.

I shook my pelt to calm down my fur. "Oh good," I barked as I ran a paw over my muzzle. Logan looked to me and I realized that I had not been very understanding. "Er not good but at least it wasn't something dangerous."

He threw the covers off of him and they covered me. I grumbled and shook off the covers. I stood up, shaking my pelt as I tried to wake myself up. If it was up to me I would have just curled up again but Logan didn't seem like he wanted to.

He opened a drawer and took out a shirt. He threw it over his nicely toned body and I flicked my tail tip. "What do you think you're doing," I asked bluntly.

He raised an eyebrow at me. "Well I'm obviously not going to sleep."

I sighed and leaped down from the bed. I stretched out, arching my back and yawning. I showed my large canines and it was hard to believe that less than a moon ago I had used the fangs to kill. I was trying to protect those who had become my family and I had failed. Now I was about to fail Keen too.

"I wouldn't advise seeing Keen," Logan told me as if I he had read my thoughts.

"I know that," I snapped as my tail lashed. "Kitty probably is sleeping and I don't want to wake her."

I strode toward the door and raised a paw, ready to try and turn the knob. Logan strode forward and pushed my paw away. "I thought you weren't going to see Keen."

I let out a growl, letting my temper flow from lack of sleep and fear for Keen's life. "I'm not but I'm not just staying in here waiting for the sun to rise."

Logan chuckled, half to himself. "You are a bit bizarre Starlight," he chuckled as he turned the knob to open the door.

I rolled my eyes. 'We shouldn't be the only ones awake. I mean there should be some kids awake."

"So you think we should find company with the kids here," Logan asked dumbfounded. He let out a laugh.

"Do you have a better idea," I asked as I kinked my tail over his back. When he didn't answer I chuckled and padded out of the door. "I didn't think so."
