Logan peered around the corner and looked into the kitchen and saw Bobby sitting at the counter. He was spooning mouthfuls of ice cream. I followed and I saw Poultice lapping at a bowl with ice cream. Luckily it was vanilla so I didn't have to worry about Poultice becoming sick.
"Doesn't anyone sleep in this place," asked Logan as he pushed himself in the kitchen with me following.
I knew that Logan wasn't under best circumstances with Bobby since I wasn't sure if he approved of his and Rouge's relationship but he didn't show it. He just turned and opened the fridge. "Does this place have any beer?"
Bobby nearly choked on his ice cream. "This is a school," he pointed out.
Poultice rolled his eyes. "Why does he want beer," he whispered as he licked the ice cream from his lips.
"He wants something to take some edge off," I explained to him, not expecting him to understand since I didn't. I only drink water so I didn't understand the appeal to beer or cigars, both of which Logan enjoyed.
"Well do you have anything beside chocolate milk," asked Logan as he rummaged through the fridge.
Bobby chuckled and pointed to a cabinet. "There is soda up there."
Logan nodded and reached up to grab a bottle of soda. He knocked off the cap and was about to take a sip when he looked to Bobby. He then handed it to him and Bobby breathed on it, making it cold to the touch.
"Thanks," Logan murmured as he took the soda and took a sip. I could tell he would rather have beer but it was much better than chocolate milk.
"Couldn't sleep," I asked Poultice as I lowered down and took a lick of the ice cream. The cool flavor ran down my throat and I smiled a bit.
Poultice shook his head. "No I couldn't sleep thinking about Keen." He threw his head toward Bobby who was speaking quietly with Logan about Rouge.
"I'm so sorry you have to go through this," I sympathized as I stretched out my neck and licked Poultice between the ears. "We just got back from the battle with Triflud and we've lost so much and now Keen may not survive."
"I want to know who poisoned him," Poultice told me with unblinking eyes. He looked at his paws and extended them. "And then I want to kill them."
My eyes glowed in amusement and I saw part of myself shinning from him. "I will be right beside you."
I heard Logan talking to Bobby about how long he had been there and if his parents liked sending him to this school. I then realized that Logan and Bobby haven't actually spoken that much. Poultice then turned his head to the conversation too.
"So you and Rouge, huh," asked Logan to Bobby and I growled to myself.
"Yeah I guess but it's not like how I'd want it to be," Bobby confessed but as soon as he said it I knew that he had made a mistake. Logan raised an eyebrow and I gulped, wondering if he'd launch for him. Luckily he didn't and Bobby continued. "It's just hard when you want to be closer to someone but can't."
Logan nodded in understanding but Bobby wasn't done. "I see how you look at Dr. Grey."
"Excuse me," asked Logan in a tone that made me laugh a bit inside. I wouldn't want to be Bobby right now.
"Never mind," Bobby murmured quickly as he turned to scoop another spoonful of ice cream in his mouth.
I suddenly heard a scratch.
