Once we were up in the air Logan strode toward Jean and Storm. "How far are we," asked Logan.
Jean looked back. "Not far," she assured with a smile.
Storm then looked at the radar and turned rigid. There were two aircrafts next to us. I leaned forward in my seat, my muscles bunching. "What does that mean," I asked as my ears flicked. I had never flown in a jet before since I could fly myself and I didn't need a jet.
Suddenly a voice rang through the jet. "Lower down your altitude to 20,000 feet," the voice commanded.
Logan looked to Storm. Storm looked to Jean but I knew that looking at each other wasn't going to make it better. "What are you going to do," asked Poultice as he leaned forward, his eyes downcast and fearful.
"This is your last chance to lower you altitude to 20,000 feet or we will open fire," the voice warned again as the aircraft surged beside us and began pointing down in case we were deaf.
Storm sighed and began to lower the jet so that the other aircrafts wouldn't fire. The aircrafts held back but I wasn't at ease. I flicked my tail tip and my breath turned raspy.
Suddenly a beeping sound echoed through the jet and I froze. "Great Lupus," I muttered as I saw on the screen missiles being ejected from the aircrafts.
"I have to shake them," Storm announced as she banked hard. Logan fell back into his seat and he strapped himself in. He held onto the straps until his knuckles turned white.
"How are you going to do that," asked Poultice before Storm turned the jet upside down and out of the eyeshot of the aircraft.
I sunk my claws into the seat and I felt whatever I was sitting on ripping. I turned my head to Logan who looked like he wanted to vomit.
"Please don't do that again," begged John who was also clutching the seat as if he was clinging onto it for like.
"I agree," rasped Logan as he squeezed his eyes shut. I snorted in amusement and he looked over to me. "Don't even start Starlight!"
Lucky for Logan I didn't but I still sensed that they were behind us. "We have to do something," called Poultice as he rocked in his seat.
Jean nodded and looked over to Storm. Storm gulped and her eyes turned cloudy and misty and I knew something was about to happen. I heard thunder and I used my supersenses to see that there was tornadoes plunging from the clouds to the ground. It was blocking the path of the aircrafts and they had to weave through the tornadoes.
One tornado engulfed the aircraft along with missiles that they had launched. "That's one," I announced and a small breath of relief echoed through the jet.
"There is still one more," reminded Logan as he cast me a glance.
I grumbled before more tornadoes plunged down from the sky. I heard it engulf another aircraft and I relaxed, my claws retracting. Storm stopped the tornadoes but the radar went crazy and Storm looked down. "Missiles," she informed us urgently. "Two of them. Jean!"
Jean took in a few shallow breaths and concentrated on one of the missiles and turned it against itself. It exploded but we weren't out of the woods yet.
"There's one more," pointed out Storm as she turned her attention to Jean.
Jean concentrated again and I couldn't help notice that her eyes turned fiery. Fear clawed at my stomach and I didn't know what was happening.
"Jean," screeched Storm.
The missile suddenly collided with the back of the jet and I felt a vacuum of air and my seat seemed to lurch a bit backwards. Suddenly I heard a screech. Rouge fell out of the back of the jet followed by Poultice who slipped from his harness which wasn't secured tightly enough.
"Rouge," cried Bobby as he stretched out a hand as if he could pull her back.
"Poultice," I wailed as I felt claws scratch my heart. I might have lost Keen, I couldn't lose Poultice too.
