{45. Follow him around chanting “Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? James stole the cookie from the

cookie jar"}

   “Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? James stole the cookie from the cookie jar!!" I chant.

   James glares at me, "Will you shut up!?"

   I look at him innocently, "“Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? James stole the cookie from the cookie jar."

   "Malfoy, go. Away." He growled.

   "James. No." I say seriously.

   "Can you be annoying somewhere else?"

   "Mmm...." I bit my lip, "no. Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? James stole the cookie from the cookie jar."

   "Merlin's beard!" James exclaimed and walks away.

   I smile to myself and followed him. "Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? James stole the cookie from the cookie jar. Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? James stole the cookie from the cookie jar."

   All of a sudden, I was pushed up against a wall with a wand to my neck. "I will hex you to oblivion if you don'y stop." James growls at me.

   I smile at him, "One question."

   James glares at me, "what?" 

   "Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?" I ask innocently.

   He took a deep breath, "I hate you."

   I smile innocently, "oh I know, James. You don't have to tell me every time you see me. Or maybe it's just an excuse to talk to me."

   "Godric you're so bloody annoying!" James exclaims.

   "I try my best."

*Fred's pov*

   Come on Fred. Just ask. You've asked s girl out before. So why is it so hard for you to ask a girl out now? Because she isn't like other girls. Come on. Don't be such a chicken. Just go up to her and ask.

   I walked up to Valerie, who was with Roxanne, Julisa, and Kaitlin. "Hey, Val."

   She looks up and smiles, "hey."

   "Can I talk to you for a sec?" I ask.

   She nods, "Sure." We walk over to side, away from Rox. If she was here with us when I ask, I'd probably chicken out... "What's up, Fred?"

   "I was wondering... Ifyouwantedgoonanotherdatewithme?" I ask really fast and nervously.

   She gives me a weird look, but nodded understandingly. "Yeah, sounds fun. As long as you don't talk really fast during it." She laughs.

   "I was asking if you wanted to go on another date with me..." I say shyly.

   She smiles at me, "I know, I hear you. And I said yeah."

 I smile back at her, "great. We-" I was cut off by Gem walking over and laughing. She pointed at someone, it was James. She laughs as James walks away annoyed at ever. Gem looks at us and winks, then runs off. I sighed at her, "Anyways... Meet me at the Black Lake on Friday at 7?"

   Val nods as she smiled at me warmly, "I'll be looking forward to it." She puts her hand on my shoulder and reaches up and kisses my cheek. "Bye, Fred." She smiles at me again and walks away.
