The Challenge

Chapter 38

The next morning, I woke up feeling like throwing up. I go to the bathroom and throw up into the toilet. I feel my hair get pulled back. Once I finish, I flush the toilet. I get up and brush my teeth. "Are you okay?" Val asks. 

 I nod, "mhm." I rinse my mouth and walk out if the bathroom. I get dress into a pair of jeans, tank top, a knitted sweater and a pair of vans. 

 "Ready?" Val asks fully dressed. 

 I nod. We go to the great hall and sit across from each other. Val starts to eat but I just sit there. I don't feel hungry right now. Although, I do want red velvet cake and chocolate. I look up to see a slice of red velvet cake in front of me. I smile widely and dig in. I glance over at the head table to see McGonagall smiling at me. I smile back and return to my cake. 

 "How did you get cake?" Val asks. 

 I smile, "McGonagall."

 She frowns, "lucky."

 Fred walks over and sits next to Val. "Morning." He kisses Val's cheek. 

 "Morning," Val and I reply. 

 "I want cake!" Fred pouts and tries to take some from me but I slap his hand away. "Ow," he whines. 

 "My cake," I stick my tongue out at him. 

 "Fine," Fred huffs. "What do you guys want to do?"

 "I actually have have plans to go to Hogsmeade with Julisa, Kaitlin, and Rox." Val says. 

 Fred nods, "okay. Gem, you have me all to yourself."

 I roll my eyes, "oh the joy."

 "You know you love me," Fred grins childishly. 

 "You're luck I do." I take another bite out of my cake. 

 "So, you want to go to Hogsmeade then?" Fred questions. 

 I nod, "sure. I have to stock up on some supplies. I wish the WWW was here. They're products are brilliant."

 Fred nods in agreement. "I know right. Dad was telling me how he was planning on buying out Zonkos. But he decided against it because it was his favorite joke shop and has been around for a long time."

 "Wise choice." I say. 

 Fred and I head to Hogsmeade when James comes along. "Hey. Can I join you?" James asks. "Everyone else has a date," He rolls his eyes. 

 Fred nods, "sure. Gem?"

 I shrug, "why not."

 James smiles, "cool."

 We go to Zonkos first. I buy a couple dung bombs, itching powder,   and firecrackers. After, we go to Honeydukes. I grin like a 5 year old and fill my basket with sweets. "Slow down," James laughs. "Are you trying to buy the whole shop?"

 I roll my eyes, "no. I just like candy."  I go to the cashier and pay for all of my candy. 

 Fred laughs at me, "have enough to feed the whole castle?"

 I stick my tongue out, "maybe. But it's all mine." 

 "Let's go buy some butterbeer and sit by the lake." Fred says. We go to The Three Broomsticks and buy three bottles of butterbeer, I'm so glad I can still have butterbeer! There's a type of butterbeer that has alcohol in it, but of course Hogwarts students aren't allowed to buy it. 

 I look around the pub as Fred pays for the butterbeer. My eyes lock with Tom. He looks at me in disgust and walks off with the girl I caught him snogging with. Fred, James and I go to the Lake and sit under a tree. I sip a bit of my butterbeer.
