The Challenge

Chapter 33

            We all piled into three different cars. I rode with the Weasleys and Val. The drive was so long! It was about an hour drive. I was squished between Roxanne and Rose. Once Harry parks the car, I scramble out of the car, I may have hit Fred and Val in the process. I stand up and stretch, "thank Merlin we're here!"

            Val wacks my arm, "your butt hit my face!"

            I laugh and smile at her, "you know you liked it."

            "Okay kids, come on." Hermione conquers a bunch of sleds for us, in different sizes. Of course no muggles saw this.

            I grabbed a sled that almost resembles a fat snowboard. I look over at Lizzy, "Lizzy, want to go with me?"

            She looks at me, then at her mom. "Can I?"

            Mrs. Robberts nodded, "go ahead. Be careful."

            "I wouldn't trust Sapphire with kids." Albus jokes.

            I stick my tongue out at him, "I am responsible. Come in Lizzy." I held her hand as we walk up a hill. I sat down on the sled and held Lizzy sit down between my legs. I held the rope and she did too. "Hold on tight." I tell her. I put my feet on the sled and push us. We slide down the hill fast. Lizzy squeals and laughs. I stop the sled at the bottom of the hill.

            "Let's go again!" Lizzy smiles. We climb up the hill again, this time a little higher because Lizzy wants to go up higher. We sit on the sled and slide down the hill. Somehow the sled turns sideways, then we are sliding down the hill backwards.

            We slide off the sled and fall onto a pile of snow. I gasp at the sudden coldness. I sit up and look at Lizzy, "are you okay?" She looks at me and starts laughing her butt off. I sigh in relief and stand up. I help Lizzy out of the snow.

            "Lizzy!" Hugo calls out. "Do you want to build a snowman?" Lizzy's face lights up and she runs over to Hugo.

            "Gem! Want to race?" Fred smirks at me.

            "You're on!" I run over and place my sled next to him.

            "Valerie, love." Fred calls out. "Say go like those girls at car races."

            Val glares at him, "I am not doing that. Ready, set…. Go!"

            Fred and I push ourselves. We both slide down the hill fast. Fred tries to push me, but he falls off his sled and rolls down the hill. I start laughing, but stop when Fred rolls in front of me. "Fred!" I exclaim as I hit him, I fly off my sled and we both tumble down the rest of the hill.

            I stop rolling, Fred tumbles onto me. "Ugh, get off." I groan.

            Fred sits up, "You hit me with your sled!"

            "That was your fault. You tried pushing me, Karma's a bitch." I smile at him.

            "Karma's only a bitch if you are." Fred says.

            I give him a look, "you just called yourself a bitch."

            Fred bit his lip, "shut up."

            Val runs over laughing, "you guys okay? That was hilarious!"

            "Thanks, Val." Fred says sarcastically, "nice to know my girlfriend cares."
