The only answer I had to that was spilling my guts out in the bin once again. Nana held my hair back while my body trembled, cold sweat drenching the back of my shirt. This time, the round was much more violent. My hands gripped at the edge of the bedposts, splinters tearing through my skin as I shredded the wood.

'' Castiël would you freaking hurry up already?'' Nana called out, annoyed.

'' Yes, please.'' I croaked, my voice breaking.

I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand and slumped back on the bed, my head dangling from the side. The loud thuds were back, making my vision blur and darken at each beat.

'' Oh child, just hang on a little longer.'' I heard her whisper through the heavy haze snaking its way around my brain.

It was getting much harder to keep my eyes open, each beat of my heart tempting me to fall asleep. I knew I shouldn't, I knew it was a bad idea to fall back into unconsciousness but who was I to fight temptation? I was never the one to refuse it, I was always the one to embrace it. Why couldn't I embrace it now? Why couldn't I just let myself drift off into sleep, maybe risking never waking up again?

A sharp sting on my cheek awoke me from my almost-sleep, worsening my headache but bringing me back to reality.

'' You are not sleeping little lady! You are to stay wide awake until me get the remedy into your system.''

I weakly rubbed my pulsing cheek, '' Yeah but did you have to slap me?''

'' Oh, stop complaining! I'm trying to save your life here.'' Nana reprimanded as she brushed a strand of hair covering my eyes.

I diverted my eyes and stared at the ground, '' What's the point anymore?'' I mumbled to myself.

'' I didn't quite catch that dear.''

I took a deep breath and looked back at her, '' It was nothing.''

She tilted her head in concern, scrutinizing me with those warm hazel eyes. Even if the hair and eye color were wrong, I most definitely saw the resemblance between her and her grand-son. The head tilting was uncanny but so was the deep, warm and analytic eyes. Eyes that peered through the barely opened window of your soul and tore it off its hinges.

'' Okay, so all the ingredients are there but I have no idea how to do this.'' Cas announced as he walked into the room. His steps faltered as his dark eyes met mine, his shoulders slumping.

Nana got up, straightening her skirt, '' Alright, I'll make the remedy but you have to stay here and make sure she stays awake. She cannot fall asleep or else she might just never wake up.''

His eyes widened and he made his way to my side, his scent calming my tight nerves. Nana left the room but I kept my eyes down, unable to maintain eye contact with him. Her words resonated in my mind, replaying the same sentence over and over like an old record player.

I knew he was looking at me, his gaze drilling to hole on the side of my head. It was both uncomfortable and soothing. Stupid bond.

'' Stop looking at me like that, it's weird.'' I finally broke the silence which caused him to chuckle, the deep throaty sound causing electric ripples in my stomach.

'' I'm just making sure you're not going to fall asleep.''

I rolled my eyes, the movement sending a jolt through my brain. Wrong move. '' Don't worry about me. I'm a grown ass woman, I'll be fine. I've been done worse by much worse.''

He sighed, '' You know, one of those days I would like you to elaborate on that.''

'' Trust me, you don't want to know.'' I responded, rolling over the bed so my head wasn't dangling on the side anymore. The amount of blood in my head wasn't helping the headache.
