Blaze walked through the park for the hundredth time this year, but today she was hoping for something else. She was hoping to see the blonde boy with the entrancing blue eyes, and the sorrowful spirit. Maybe she could help. Maybe for once in her seventeen-year-long life, she could do something to make herself proud. Something worthwhile.
After a while, she did catch those blue eyes, and he gave a small smile in her direction. She walked over to him, sitting on the bench.
"Hi." He had said it just to break the unbearable tension.
"Hey."
"Do you go to school?" He had asked and she simply nodded.
"You?" She returned, and be shook his head.
"I dropped out last year." He says, and she nodded.
That was the day she learned Luke Hemmings dropped out of school.
