Arthur's POV
" Did I just miss something?" Gwaine asked.
Merlin and the Druids just left us at the top of the hill with confusion written all over our faces. " Listen up!" We drew our attention towards Merlin's younger sister, Alise. " when we go back in the cave just leave Merlin alone for now. Just so he can gather his thoughts."
It felt as if they knew something about what was going on. But why would they hide it from us.
"Don't get me wrong we do respect your wishes and we don't mind with giving him some space it's just...may I ask why?" Gwaine said coming forth.
He was right we wouldn't mind giving him space. But why? What did Merlin see?
" Because we don't know what that druid guy showed him. And when he gets like this it's usually best to let him be." That still didn't answer our question. We were going to leave him alone for awhile, but we just wanted to know why. " The last time he got like this and father pestered him to tell him what happened, we almost lost an entire west wing. So please, just let it go...for now." Samuel said as he and his sister walked after there Elder brother.
"But-"
"Arthur, don't push it. You might not like the answer you receive." I couldn't believe I was thinking this at all, but morgana was right. If there was one thing I knew about Merlin from the time we spent in Aratheial just a few weeks ago, it was that whenever he was upset don't push it.
I nod my head to her in defeat. " Let's head back , we leave for Camelot in about fifteen minutes." I said turning Gwaine and the others around before they were to object.
I felt like I couldn't help him. He's my best friend, and now soon to be brother-in-law, and I was helpless. This wasn't the only thing stressing me out.
The war that was about to transpire in my Kingdom hit me like a waging magnet. A magnet that I couldn't avoid. Of course, I had faith in Merlin and the others. The problem was that all the faith and confidence I had in myself as a king and a person as a whole, went down hill. I didn't believe in me.
My sword was always my strength. But when I realized that my opponent was a sorcerer everything, every ounce of strength I had was no more. And like that my sword fell.
Shaking my head from my own despair, I entered the cave to see the knights already on horse back. All except one. "Where's Merlin?" I asked Morgana.
She looked around before answering. "He's over there." She pointed. My eyes followed her fingers as I watched him enter through another tunnel.
"Where's he going?" I questioned. Pulling Morgana's hand we headed towards the moist tunnel. As we got closer voices were heard. When we finally came to the end of the tunnel, what we saw was unbelievable.
Turning to Morgana I nudged her. Realizing my lack of Welsh knowledge, she frowned. " Sorry Arthur, but I don't speak Welsh."
"Then what language were you using to speak to that physician?" I asked.
"It was Latin." She answered. " They speak a total of three languages. The first one being Welsh. And they only speak Welsh when it's between natives and their passing codes while traveling. The second and third one being Latin and English when their visiting outer kingdoms or when outer kingdoms visit them."
I looked at her in awe. Great! Now I'm admiring my sister. It really seems as if I got back the Morgana I grew up with. The Morgana we all thought we had lost. Don't get me wrong I was pissed, appalled, and disappointed when she attacked Camelot. Key word 'was'. I haven't forgiven her fully but it was a start.
