(Jonathan POV)

"Jonathan!"

I quickly bolt upright and start coughing almost instantly as the smoke flooded our bedroom.

"Ash..."

I stand up and try to cover my mouth with my shirt as the thick black smoke fills my lungs and the smell of burning wood fills my nasal cavities.

"Johnathan, the kids!"

Ash screams at me and I feel my lungs burn. I try to look around the room to find him but my eyes watered from the smoke and I couldn't see a damn thing.

I make my way over to the wall and feel my way over to the door, kicking it open to get a faceful a smoke, and the flames were licking their way from the hallway. I feel a tug on my arm and turn to see Ashley coughing beside me.

 "I'll get...kids, you...Finley."

He coughs and dashes out to the left side of the hallway without a moment's hesitation.

" Ashley!"

I turn to the right and run for Finley.

I felt his door, it was hot to the touch,

"Finley!"

I scream and kick open the door to find the room engulfed in flames and melting away. A sudden feeling of dread hits my chest as I scan the room for what could possibly be the remains of my youngest son.

"Daddy!"

I hear a scream coming out and look around, turning circles.

"Finley!"

I scream back and hear a choked out sob, I turn to the hallway and see the closet door was slightly open. "Daddy!" I quickly follow the voice and open the closet to see Finley hacking away with his face covered in soot and tears. I quickly pick him up and press his head into my shoulder in a pathetic attempt to shield him from the smoke.

I turn back to the other side of the hallway where Ash had disappeared to.

Through the flames and smoke, it was almost impossible to see if he made it out.

 "Ashley!"

I call out and end up having a cough attack.

My voice running dry.

 "GET OUT!"

I hear him call back and run down my side of the hall with little Finley screaming in my arms.
