"You're telling me this was your school?!" Zeref exclaimed as we got closer to the prestigious school.
"Mhm, trust me. Once you get used to the hallways, it doesn't seem this big." I explained. He just silently nodded and continued walking.
"Alright! We're here! Just let me get my.....," I start off but soon end the sentence as I'm invested in finding the item. I finally find the medium sized card and continue the incomplete sentence, "Student ID card!"
"Sure took you a bit" Zeref chuckles. "Ha Ha" I laugh sarcastically. "Alright let me just scan this and the gate should be unlocked." I said as I walked up to the small scanner and a green light shines as it reads the white and black lines.

"What?! That's impossible! Principal Jiemma said that these could never be disabled!" I sigh frustratedly.
"Don't worry Lucy, we can always visit later." Zeref reassured, as he tried to get away as quickly as possible. "Oh! Pft, I'm sooo dumb" I facepalmed. "Hmm?" Zeref questioned worriedly, silently praying to himself that the blonde headed girl didn't find her ID.
"This is my dorm card, not my student ID!" I laughed awkwardly, while Zeref sighed in disappointment.
"Alright, here it is." I said scanning the card.

The icon spelled as the satisfactory sound of a click of a gate unlocking. "Alright, lets go, everyone should be having class right now, so let's just check in with the principal."
Zeref nodded, slightly sweating in anticipation. "Wait, number one? What does that mean?" Zeref asked confused. "Oh, that. I guess no one has beaten my rank yet"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, in high school as you know, there will be a valedictorian. The way Principal Jiemma is going to do it is by ranks. Currently, I have a 5.0 GPA so I'm the current "valedictorian" in my grade."
"Wait, first of all, GPA can only go up to 4.0? And what's with the air quotes around the word valedictorian?"
"Oh, Sabertooth uses a weighted scale and I guess since you guys only go up to 4.0, Fairy Tail probably uses an unweighted scale. As for the air quotes, valedictorians are for students at the end of the year who graduate. So when I say "valedictorian" for my grade, I mean currently I'm the most eligible for the role when we're seniors"
"Oh, okay, yeah that makes sense" he nodded, soaking in the new information. "Hmm, I think Rogue is number one in his grade too..."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, shocking. I thought Sting was finally going to be rank one this year, I guess Rogue got it again, oh, we're here!"
"You know... I don't know about this anymore Lucy, what if they're just like my bullies?" Zeref asked as he shuffled away from the big door.
"Zeref it's fine, the worst they'll do is trash talk you, anything more is not needed. If they don't see you as a threat, then you should be fine."
"Fine."
"Great! Now, hold my hand." I said outstretching my arm. "W-What? Why?" He asked startled by the sudden demand. "Why are you so forgetful?" I sulked because I didn't want to have to explain again.
