Aniko POV

I shift uncomfortably, looking to the side with my gray eyes with discomfort. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to—"

"No, it's okay." I breathe as I look down, coving my bare stomach. "It's just, kinda hard, you know?" I look in her direction as she nods solemnly.

I exhale again, mentally preparing myself. I grip my hands together, turning my knuckles white. "W-Well my parents were the first generation that got an exceptional education and now they've passed that expectation to me." I looked down.

"First of all, before I met Zeref, I was very and extremely diligent in my schoolwork. Schoolwork would come first over everything...until, I met him." Lucy looked intrigued. She tilted her head to the side.

"Please, continue."

I nodded again, taking a deep breath. "I had first seen Zeref when he was in the hallway, getting beaten up. Of course, I wasn't a stander-by and pushed my way through the crowd of people."

I smiled a bit and tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear. "I grabbed his arm and took him with me as he tried to pry my hands off." I coughed. "The other kids were cheer at me as if I was   going to also beat him up. He was literally shaking in my grasp as I took him to the nurses office."

Lucy hummed. "Same story when I met him, but they didn't cheer per say." I nodded, continuing.

"I laid him down and let go as he immediately covered his head, as if I was going to punch or slap him. As he was distracted, I got some disinfect wipes and put them over his slight wound as he jumped." I chuckle a bit.

"From there, I swore I was going to be his friend forever, and from that day forward, we got closer and closer. As schoolwork got harder and my parents were stressing me out more, Zeref was quite possibly the only thing keeping sane." I take a sip of my water to clear my throat.

"But... my parents noticed. I didn't stay in on my weekends to study anymore, I didn't go to the library as often, and my grades plunged to an A-. You can imagine their rage. Though, they didn't know what to do, they weren't exactly keen on me transferring without me noticing but they didn't want me to say either."

"But then the School Project I'm guessing..." Lucy stated. "Yeah, once rumor spread that I was picked, my parents immediately took the advantage and told the principal I would be transferring without telling me. I was flown over to Lamia Scale permanently."

"Did they not want you to keep in contact with anyone? And why Lamia Scale when they knew there was Sabertooth?" Lucy asked, her chocolate brown eyes had a mix of confusion and pity.

"They couldn't get me into Sabertooth, and they didn't want me to keep in contact with anyone at Fairy Tail because they were considered as "bottom rankers" I rub my eyes.

"They changed my phone number, cut off my connections, and isolated me from everyone except for people at Lamia Scale. I eventually mailed a letter to Zeref telling him what happened, and that was difficult on it's own."

She nodded as she looked at the clock. She wiped the tear stain from my eye that even I wasn't aware of and looked down. She smiled. "You're here now," I immediately hugged her as she slight flinched.

She relaxed into my embrace and slowly hugged me back.
