Whew! I'm back! Thanks for all of you who understood!
"I'm nervous." Lucy says quietly to the pinkette next to her. "Don't worry, we've been practicing for weeks now." He said back, giving the blonde's hand a reassuring squeeze.
She nodded, squeezing back. Today, Principal Makarov told everyone that if they were participating in the talent show, they could wear something other than their uniforms.
Natsu and Lucy had settled on a simple theme of black and white. Lucy was wearing a white knitted sweater and a cute, plain black skirt. She also wore black tinted, thigh high socks with simple low white heels.
Natsu had on a black shirt and white jeans with his signature white scarf. He then wore his black school shoes. Lucy was really hoping that they would win and show people that Sabers aren't just brains.
She needed to show them that they have talent too.
Natsu, however, was praying to the gods that they win. If they do, Lucy had said she would answer his confession from a couple months ago. Of course, he had lost a great deal of hope before this moment and was even contemplating of scratching the whole idea.
She already thinks that Natsu already has a girlfriend and his confession was a joke and that took a toll on the boy. They both breathed in slightly and exhaled.
"You ready?" The girl whispered. The boy nodded, determination in his eyes. They walked out on stage, the crowd starting to cheer, some whispering about the surprising partnership.
The two teens took their seats at the black grand piano that had been placed prior to their arrival. The boy had played the first chord and the girl followed soon after. The judges were smiling at each other as they continued watching. The song finished and everyone started to clap.
The teens smiled at each other and bowed. One of the judges had started to speak. "Now, as you all have been informed, when you do an instrument or vocal duet, you have to do a solo on your own for cheating reassurance." The woman cleared her voice as the teens on stage nodded their head.
The blonde headed girl whispered in the boy's ear and he nodded. The girl started to head towards the black piano as the boy stood idly by. She sat down, her posture about perfect. She scanned the auditorium and she had landed on someone.
She gripped the mic that was attached to the piano and spoke, "Rogue Cheney, this is for you!" She laughed, oblivious to the disheartened the boy at the end of the stage. She cracked her knuckles and started.
She looked back at the black haired male to see him crying tears of pure joy. "THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL! OH YURIIII!" The black haired teen screamed. The girl sweat dropped and walked back. She patted the boy's back. "Good luck." He nodded at the encouragement and sat down. "This is an original, I think it suits me."
Natsu thought it was a bit excessive, yes, but they needed to win.
The judges were left shocked at both performances and they quickly bowed together. The two walked back stage and hugged each other.
"We did it!" They chorused.
