Read the A/N at the end. The end is important info that I forgot to include.
"---Then you divide to find 'X'-- Oh, there goes the bell, you're dismissed to homeroom." The teacher finished off. I sigh as I pack up all my stuff and shove it in my backpack before walking down the hall back to my homeroom.
I walk silently, holding a few notebooks in my arms, making sure not to run into any students who don't care where I'm going or if they run into me. I'm about halfway on the route to homeroom as I hear a voice.
"Lucy!!!"
"Hmm?" I mumbled quietly turning around. "Natsu? What's wron--oof!" I struggled as he grabbed my wrist and tugged me towards the classroom. "Natsu--! You're going too fast--!"
"It's fine!" He said back. "Hey! No running in the halls!" Some student from the council yelled. We reach the classroom and I push Natsu away and dust myself off.
"Warning next time please" I say sarcastically. "Haha, sorry" Natsu grinned, scratching his nape. "It's fine, just go sit down until they mention it, okay?" He nodded eagerly and sat down.
Meanwhile, I walk over to my seat next to Zeref and start talking about the trip. "Are you ready? I know you're packed"
"Mhm, I am" Zeref shuddered. "Oh," I said smiling cheekily. "Sorry about sending Sting and Rogue over to your house to pack for you" I giggled nervously.
His eyes twitched, "That was you?!"
"Wellllll, all the things we bought you probably wouldn't fit in your suitcases, and Sting and Rogue are really good packers"
"They fought over how a grey shirt looks better on me than a white shirt" Zeref deadpanned. "Oh, heh they do that" I grinned cheekily, while scratching my neck.
"You have to warn me about stuff now you know? I'm not used to this kinda thing."
"Yeah, Yeah class is starting so shush." He nodded as I faced the front.

"Alright class I have an important announcement." The middle aged woman said pushing up her glasses. "As you know the talent show is coming up in about two months, this year if you'd like to participate, you have to get a partner."
Groans filled the classroom as the teacher continued. "The only exception is if you participate in the individual, but if you participate with a partner it will count as extra credit for all classes."
One girl shyly raised her hand. Her amber orbs looking to the side. "Yes, August?" The teacher asked, pointing to the dirty blonde. "U-Um, what will the extra credit consist of?"
"You'll get a 100% exam score in two classes of your choosing." Everyone's eyes widened as they heard the news.
It was fairly obvious that most of the students in the grade were failing in all the classes, having the system changed every year to higher and more difficult standards because of the new technology being created for students.
Sure, there were a a handful of smarties in the grade, maybe a prodigy here and there, but come on. The only reason rich people are here because Fairy Tail Academy is the only school in Magnolia.
You may think that's crazy, only one school? Well, it's true. Before, most parents homeschooled their children, they're many that still do.
Since rich people have to work to keep up, they can't necessarily stay home for seven hours teaching their children things they won't even use in the future, for example, calculus.
