I woke up the following morning to the sound of Shawn's alarm. I looked to the left of me and Shawn saw already awake.
"Morning" I said.
"Morning" He said putting his arm round me.
"You seem nervous" I said sitting up covering my body up with the duvet. "Yeah I am a little" Shawn replied.
"It's natural, you know this could be the start of something big" I said. "Yeah and I just don't want to mess this up" Shawn said. "You won't, besides everyone makes mistakes, and I know how cliche that is but it's true" I said as I placed a kiss on his cheek. Me and Shawn both got up and got ready and went downstairs. We walked into the kitchen and there was a big banner with,
GOODBYE SHAWN AND MALIA, written across it in a funky font.
I saw my mum standing in the corner with tears in her eyes. "Mum" I said walking over to her. "I'm so proud of you darling" she said as she wiped her tears away. "Are you? I just threw away my chances of my career" I said. "Darling, having a good future doesn't mean you have to have top school grades, or go to the best school of drama to have a good career in what you want, yes you've put your life on hold but just because you're putting it on hold means it's stopping maybe it's just getting started" she said. "Thanks mum" I said hugging her tightly. "Malia it's time to leave" Shawn said. "Now go and live your life! There's nothing holding you back from doing anything my dear, you remember that" she said. "I will" I said. I walked over to the door and looked one last time at my mum, I'm doing this for my mum, I'm going to make her proud.
