Your POV | Polar Tang
My fingers trailed across the new book that's still wrapped in it's plastic container with care, this is the newest edition of a medical book that I finally got after hiding it from Law. He was looking everywhere for this book, even going as far as wanting to return to Grand Line to search for it.
He's a man that doesn't like things as cheerful as this, but I need to let him know that someone cares, I care.
We've been dating for god knows how long, and he didn't give me a sign of wanting to get married, not that I complained about it but if it makes him happy, then it's enough for me. I looked back at the clock to see it's nearing midnight, nearing the day of his birthday.
I got up with a smile as I placed the book inside a nicely decorated box fits for a book before scooting out from my room and towards the captain's room. I heard shuffling of papers and the scribbling of pen or quill from the other side as I sighed, he's overworking himself like this again, even on his own birthday.
I raised my fist while placing the present behind me as I knocked, the scribbling and shuffling died for a moment before his voice rang out,
"Who's there.." dull yet stern voice rang out as it didn't stop my heart from doing flips after hearing it.
"I-it's me, (Y/N)" I stated as I heard his chair swiveled to the side and the sound of his shoes tapping on the metal floor that has been decorated and polished into wood-like substance. The knob was shaken as the door was pulled and the face of my beloved man was there, with a shocked yet concerned expression.
"(L/N)-ya? What are you doing here? It's already late enough as it is" he stated as I rolled my eyes.
"Says the person who's staying up all night, again" I countered as he sighed before opening the door a bit wider for me to enter, but I stopped dead in my tracks as I pulled out the box and pushed it lightly towards his chest.
"You don't have to do give me anything, (L/N)-ya..." he said as I sighed, before fiddling with my fingers like it's the most interesting thing in the world. I peeked from under my lashes to see he was smoothly opening the lid and eyes widened at the content of the box.
"(L/N)-ya, t-this book.." he trailed off as I smiled,
"I've seen you looking for it for a while now, so I decided to buy it for you, so that you can complete the set with the rest that you got" I chuckled as he followed suit, he took my hand and gently placed a kiss on it as I blushed at the action he just gave me.
"You're actually being observant for once" he smirked as he placed the book on the table, right in the middle of it as a way to remind him to open the plastic around it later. He pulled me into his arms as he circled it around my body, him being much taller than me but still managed to rest his chin on my shoulder.
"Thank you..." his words cracked slightly at the end but I decided not to push it, I wrapped my arms around him in a comforting manner as he tightened the grip and pushed me away slightly before pulling me into his lap as he leaned onto his chair, his nose buried into the crook of my neck as I ruffled his messy hair in comfort.
"You're welcome, Law..." I smiled back at him as my eyes widened at his next words,
"Will you marry me?" I pushed him slightly with widened eyes, did he just proposed to me? On his birthday!? He smiled oh so with gentle that was rare even for the entire world but not for me, it's still rare but somehow I felt my heart glowed with happiness as I smashed my lips with his.
"Yes! A million times yes!" never have I seen Trafalgar Law, the so called sadist smiled so brightly.
