Ace's POV

Me, Marco and Thatch was wondering around the orphanage searching for someone for us to adopt, the kids were rather nice and cute. They got along with each other, and even played with us. 

"Don't touch me!!" a high-pitched girl like sound shouted as I felt the atmosphere became colder as if we're in a room filled with air conditions. You see, in this world, people who had powers were seen as rare, and Whitebeard, our father adopted us in order that he can protect us from any bad things. 

We came to any orphanages in search for those who's in our state, so that we could protect them. I looked over to Marco and nodded, we finally found someone. We ran over to the voice, and saw that a teen boy was sitting on the ground while some of his friends were glaring at something, or rather, someone. 

I looked over to see (H/C) hair that sways around and bright electric blue orbs that stare coldly at the young teen. "You're a freak!" the one that had fallen shouted before running away, leaving the (H/C) haired girl alone, her orbs connected with our and she literally sent chills down our spines. She hid behind the huge tree and was reading something. 

From what we knew, the girl was around (age) years old only a couple years younger than me. When we gave the picture to Pops, he was delightful to finally have a girl in his family of boys. We tried every trick in the book. We comforted her, we tried playing with her, we even gave presents for her but none of it worked like the others. She only glared and growled at us before hiding behind her tree. 

I didn't gave up however, I walked up to her and sat beside her, she didn't move but kept her gaze in the sky. "So, you're (Y/N)? Nice to meet you! I'm Ace!" I gleefully said as she didn't fade from her spot. "What's your power? Its really cool" it made her turned towards me somehow, she looked up at me and I could see a fade of pink underneath her eyes before turning away. She was quite cute if you ask me.

"Ice" she muttered slowly before keeping her gaze to the sky. "Ice? Oh, mine's fire!" I lit up one of my fingers to prove it, she turned towards me before her bright blue orbs widen a bit. "We're opposite" she muttered as she lit up her finger and an ice shard appeared, she leaned her finger towards mine and the result is, her ice melted by my fire. 

"Why're you still here?" she said when I came to her for the thousandth times, its true, I didn't gave up. "Our father wanted to adopt you! And believe me when you got adopted by him, the house will filled with sm-" "Do you know his true purpose?" I was cut short, and looked over to her. 

"Do you even know what he did behind your backs? When he finally earned your trusts, maybe he will sent you to be researched!" she shouted the last part as ice shards appeared from the ground and pointed at me. 

"He hated us being researched! He had powers too!" I barked back and she didn't seem to bought it. "Pops would nev-" "And you believed it?" she muttered as I felt my shoulders burnt from anger. 

She seems to be calmed and then it clicked, I finally knew why she did all that, she experienced it herself! I kneel beside her, melted her ice and wrapped my arms around her. "I'm sorry, but trust me, I would never let anything bad happened to you.." I muttered beside her ear and somehow felt cold hands snaked around my back. 

"Not only him-yoi" our thoughts were cut short, and I turned to see Marco in his phoenix form. I looked over to (Y/N) and she had the widest bright blue orbs I've ever seen. She turned towards me, "Do you promise?" she calmly said as I quickly nodded with my usual goofy smile. 

I pushed the door open, only for confetti to popped and surprised (Y/N). A party that was made just for her, and our arrival since we've been staying in the orphanage just to keep persuading her. 

She turned towards me with a huge smile that made me blush while muttering, "Thank you, Ace"
